  • I make them with chicken thighs (marinated with this recipe), then hummus, tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, red onion, feta, and sriracha.

Usually the chicken thighs hold well in the fridge for 3-4 days, just nuke them with a bit of water for moisture.

  • Pasta for us.

I also like to do pita wraps/donairs sometimes that last us a couple days. Just cut up all the ingredients on the first day and then it's just an easy warm up the pita and stuff it with the chicken and veg the next day. Works well for taco mix too like ground beef, just swap the pita bread for tortilla.

  • Yeah it's marketed as being able to detect urine irregularities in cats so it changes colour with their pee. It also supposedly "locks" in the smell which, to their credit, I couldn't smell the cat shit, all I could smell was dust.

It's also made of silicone which, you know, not meant to be eaten so I'm sure that's great for cats to have in the fur they clean with their mouths.

I really didn't do my research on this one.

  • I think Western society/individualism has erased a lot of this but for centuries before colonialism and still in a lot of indigenous and non-western societies, it's expected to respect your elders and take care of them. In turn, they should be aiming to build that respect for themselves and to be a good ancestor for those preceding them. You see this all across indigenous belief systems - your society/nature will take care of you just as you took care of it.

The reason nobody did shit for us is because those beliefs have been overridden by colonialism and individualistic mindsets. Humans aren't meant to be as selfish as we've become, that's why we're so unhappy.

  • Yep! Even when I've disagreed with people, it's been more of an exchange of knowledge rather than one person asking for citations and then proceeding to ignore them all.

It's okay to disagree, sometimes you can learn from each other :)

  • They don't talk about it because that's not the colour of immigrant they're worried about. Europeans make up 10% of all immigrants living in the states - the 3rd largest region group after those from the Americas (52%) and from Asia(31%), which you also didn't mention above.

Africans and middle eastern people are on your list of talked about immigrants because they are the right colour for the media to complain about despite making up less of the immigrant population in the states.

  • Not stuck anymore but I was for like a month. I bought Pretty Litter cause multiple drag queens I liked told me to do so. That is the worst goddamn litter I have EVER used in my life. The smell was horrendous, the dust was so so bad I actually couldn't even be in the next room when my partner did the litter because of my allergies, and our house looked like a fucking beach. Fuck those people. (And shame on me for falling for goddamn ads)

  • Yeah I "fell" for it cause I can't afford a house/don't have parents that can help with a down payment. But seeing how much shit my homeowner friends have to deal with makes me honestly pretty grateful not to be a homeowner.

I know there's downsides, but I don't want kids and am locked in at COVID pricing, so I don't really care for purchasing anything either.

  • Yeah I understand people's fears and, especially being on the island and significantly closer and more isolated to the US is a bit scary, but I feel like if he's gonna attack anywhere, he'll go south first before he comes north. Which, as a Mexican Canadian, just as bad imo, but at least it's not where I am physically?

But I don't really think he's ready to start actual wars that close to home soil.

  • The only 'dispute' I know about on Hans island was the Whisky Dispute, which was resolved peacefully after years of soldiers 'claiming' the land by stealing each other's flags and leaving booze for each other. More like a very lazy game of capture the flag if you ask me.

Are these the armed raids you refer to?

  • Honestly I buy local as much as I can but when I do my 'big' shops I'm still going to Costco. I don't care that they're American, I'm still putting my faith in them over Loblaws.

All my fresh produce is from local stores and I only buy used otherwise. I'm doing my best but I fucking hate Loblaws.

  • People are selfish. They think they'll be able to afford privatized health care (and maybe some of them will), but mostly I think people just don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves, especially during difficult economic times. They genuinely don't understand that this is the cheaper option, or maybe they're just that desperate to find a doctor.

The American election proved how selfish people are at their core and I'm terrified, but pretty certain, that our own will also prove the point.
