  • I understood what jus sanguinis meant from context but oh my god does that sound gross. I never knew it was called that.

It makes me think of like a drippy blue rare stake which like, delicious, but also not how I'd want to claim my heritage.

  • I don't understand why someone would hate that they show both sides? Like, I'm not a centrist or right winger by any means, but it's good to get out of the echo chamber sometimes. Everyone needs to be more critical of the media they consume and realize that not everyone thinks the same way they do. I don't agree with the way the right reports on things, but I want to at least know what I'm not hearing that other people are.

  • I haven't been to BCLs recently but I'm really hoping taking American liquor out means they've brought a better selection of our local stuff in cause we have some really great breweries and distilleries in BC and it's hard to find their stuff.

  • Oh man I am torn because now I want to hear Steve go head to head with Rogan but also listening to Joe Rogan makes my ears bleed. And last time I put that podcast on as a joke for all of 15 seconds, the app wouldn't fucking stop recommending it to me.

  • Wow, so glad this brave American here could teach me so much about my own country. Let me just call up my drug dealing prime minister governor and demand that he fix Canada immediately lest we face more punishment from Poppa Cheeseball. Thank you r/conservative, I'd be so lost without you proper Americans leading the way.

  • I saw in another article what the "three line message" was:

"Application declined. Thanks for your interest. And by the way, we don't think you're qualified."

And while I don't care for the guy, as someone who's been trying to find another job for like a fucking year, this hit me so hard.

  • I've done a few deep dives into the various controversies surrounding the Liberal leadership in this province (I was a bit young to understand it when it was happening) but every single time, I manage to be more shocked at how they got away with so much for so freaking long.

  • Is it bad that I'm kind of glad not to have come into adulthood until after this guy was gone? Like I feel like from what I've heard, if heard it now from a prime minister, I'd probably lose my fucking mind.

But who knows, maybe we'll see a 2.0 in a couple months and all get to experience an exceptionally bad PM (hopefully not).

  • Does he have anything in plan to protect Canadians rather than just revenge on the US? Like in BC they're pushing the buy local, cutting down American liquor sales, and realloting some money to prep for what's expected to be all the upcoming layoffs.

All I've seen from Ontario is Ford saying he'll kick America's ass metaphorically but is there anything in place to protect the local jobs that'd be lost if they were to cut off all that electricity?
