  • In Canada we see a lot less of that due to rules around news and reporting on social media, but there's a push for better regulation still. I worry it's not enough to keep us clear of the conservatives this election.

  • I am Mexican, I deem you honorary Mexican so you may share the joy of having a not so shitty president.

I mean, I don't live in Mexico so she's technically also not my president but if you want I can also deem you honorary Canadian.

  • Really depends on the situation though. Where I work there are many temp jobs that are often extended for a long time after their end date until the bosses are finally able to swing it with the permanent position. It sucks but (in my work situation) it usually means the bosses really want to keep you around and are trying their best with the budget. It's easier to get a temp assignment approved than a permanent role.

  • I got a message from her yesterday and I had never talked about her before so I don't think you can summon her that way. I can forward you the message if that'll make you feel better. I'll be your Nicole.

  • I hear Puerto Rico is actually stocked full of paper towels, so much so that their politicians are literally throwing them around! They should definitely be sharing with the US.

  • Yeah but having the sentiment out there can still harm our own politics by giving rise to the people within Canada who support fascism (indirectly or directly). I don't know anyone who gives a fuck that Americans might not like us but I know at least a few who think that our government should be following in the footsteps of Americans, and given that I live in a fairly liberal city, I can only imagine it's much worse in some of the other areas.

  • To be fair though, this article is from a local British Columbian newspaper it's not like a national or international thing so they don't really have much reason to specify as most of the local news doesn't usually go global.
