  • This is the most fucking UK thing I've ever seen, like I know it's sexual harassment and gross, but I swear to god I knew at least 10 dudes that would've done this and laughed their ass off in college.

  • Also as seen in my other comments from my experience liberals can’t handle someone opposing their ideas, while i admit, I see a lot of hate towards the LGBTQ+/BLM folks you simply can’t force everyone to like who you are.

So from this statement, what I'm hearing you say is that hating on LGBTQ and racialized folks is okay just because they're existing and asking to be "liked". Is that right? They should expect that people will hate them and try to take their rights away and they should just shut up and accept that?

To put it in another perspective, if I saw someone who looked like you and was open about their love for guns, and I made the assumption that because of the gun, they are a violent criminal, then would it be okay for me to be outwardly hateful towards you? Would it be okay for me to try to ban you from going to the gun range just because I think that makes you a violent criminal? Would you just accept that?

    Do you see the parallels?

Based on the gun comments, you clearly understand what it's like to feel like your rights are being stripped from you. So do you think it's fair for you to minimize the feelings of others who feel the same, and who are acting out to defend themselves in the same way that you are?

To address your other comment, I completely agree that the liberals didn't do enough to address homelessness, but I also strongly believe that incarcerating people who are struggling with mental health/substance issues is not the answer and will only lead to higher cost for taxpayers to put and keep those people in jail.

I don't expect you to answer to any of this, btw. Just food for thought. I'm always interested to see why "the other side" thinks the way they do.

  • Circus comparison is good but I prefer drag race. It's a bunch of (generally) men in costumes and make up performing very well-practiced routines for the sole purpose of entertainment, with one rigged winner at the end.

Maybe wrestling fans wouldn't like that comparison as much.

  • I think Wab Kinew should go federal and take lead of that party. I think choosing an indigenous person might still be a bit too progressive for some parts of Canada but I genuinely think he could do really well.

  • Bless project managers. The ones I've seen in IT seem generally better off because programmers and engineers seem to be better at getting their work done, but outside of IT, it's like herding cats trying to get people to do their shit. I do not understand how any of you can do it full time.

I've done my fair share of project coordination and have had people tell me I should go into project management officially but quite frankly I'd rather chew glass. Y'all are saints.

  • I know you were half joking but for everyone else here complaining that 5k ain't shit (I agree, it's not), it's because the incentive is not for you. It's for rich people (read: rich white people, since poverty disproportionately affects non-white people).

5k might not mean shit to you in trying to raise a child but for someone who already has the means to have/raise a kid, it's actually bonus money. That's the incentive.

  • "Gutted" gets every single time, but for the most unfunny and fucked up reason.

I was at a bar and a guy was describing how his pet got hit by a car and he found it kind of split down the belly, then he said "I was gutted", describing his reaction. But his pet was also quite literally gutted. I didn't laugh or anything but it was just such a dark thing to say it was almost funny.

  • Not even just the states though, there's been opposition of women's healthcare through the UK (where abortions may still be criminalized and aren't as accessible as other parts of the world) and even voiced by the dbag that's trying to become our next prime minister in Canada (most recently in his alignment with outspoken forced birther Jordan Peterson and voting against accessible birth control).

  • Generally idgaf about the monarchy but I've been waiting for them to speak up on it. Our so-called king should give a shit when other countries threaten parts of his Commonwealth.
