  • Where do you draw the line? What is not human to you, an egg? A sperm? Every single cell in your organism?

That's besides that you are dodging the question, since everyone with eyes can tell that a blastula is not the same as a fully developed human. It's a stage in human development.

  • Sure everyone with a different opinion is victim of propaganda. Easy way out.

There are of course similarities, like both conflicts are fueled by nationalistic ideology but alone Russian goals are quite different, one is more of a conventional war - the other is asymmetric, Palestinians had a very limited control over their territories to begin with and there is a long complex history of aggression from both sides. Most importantly there is a functioning solution for Ukrainian conflict that can be achieved with military, not so sure there is such a solution for Israel/Palestine conflict - people were searching for one, for quite some time.

  • Not sure what you mean by helping Yeltsin stay in power? I can't really remember Yeltsin power being in danger to beginn with. As far as I know, one of the bigger problems was the very president focus constitution, which made it really easy for Putin to consolidate Power and Oligarchs making a really bad judgement that they can control Putin.

  • I’d expect it to stay away from any conflict in this case, not pick and choose the ones they like.

But they don't do it in other cases, so it would be naive to expect them to do it here.

It’s the same reason many people are pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of people and news outlets that stood with Ukraine being oppressed but find the Palestinians being oppressed very “complicated”.

Dude, Palestinian Israeli conflict is just extremely more complicated than Ukraine Russian conflict.

  • Sure, and I haven't said that. My body is just not a place or at least fundamentally different from any kind of other places that exist out there. Also I like how you conveniently don't bother answering, if for you a blastula is the same thing as a fully developed human.

  • I think the mistake was not to support democratic/liberal powers in Russia enough. Im my opinion the 1990th were a turning point in Russian history where it could have gone either ways. But also it would be really interesting to know how Putins strategy and vision for Russia developed over time, hope future historians can find it out.

  • In retrospective everything is more clear. I would argue that it was fair bet to try to establish a deep economical connection with Russia as means to try to integrate it more into Europe. And we don't know what would have happened if the west pushed for harder balkanization of Russia after Sowjets broke apart.
