  • I would advice people against directly clashing with the police. Such does little good, as police has typically more weapons and more fight training. It will only get you in trouble and do nothing good.

If you really wanna be an annoying prick to authorities, consider slashing tires of ICE vehicles. This way, when ICE plans to abduct people again, they're stuck in the middle of a village they probably don't know well, surrounded by people who are angry at them. That can't be good for them.

  • But if it's not Putin's fault,

    1. US people would have to face the reality that there's stupid people among them
    2. and there'd be no "external threat" to distract from internal problems!
  • stopping paying taxes is one of the essential elements of a "soft secession", one where the state disintegrates from the federation, but not "all at once", but "step by step".

Maybe it was Trump's plan after all to cause a number of states to secede? After all, GOP has talked about Texas' secession for a while, iirc?

  • Lots of social-cultural issues make for great distractions from actual economic measures while also ensuring infighting among the population! so they get nothing done.

  • nope. boomers still behave the same way on the internet when they're using their real name. it's really more the screen/lack of physicality that seems to do it.

  • it actually made sense back in the medieval day when contraception wasn't a thing and "marriage" was a legal contract that guaranteed that the kids would get fed. nowadays it's just a habit out-of-time.

  • Reading the article, that dude just sounds like a sad person with no true hope in life.

Nevertheless, she said, Leto kept calling her, “always at one, two, three AM”. “And the conversations turned sexual. He’d ask things like: ‘Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever sucked a dick?’” she told Air Mail.

    Sounds like a drunk alcoholic.

  • physical distance might not stop you from sending an email, but it can stop an attacker from coercing you into sending that data.

  • 50% of teachers are sadists, though. unfortunately.

  • something similar happened at my school. you could read all the other student's user profiles through the file explorer. it was useless though because the students had no interesting stuff stored on their profiles (i checked). when i finally told a teacher, he tried to act as if he hadn't heard, because he correctly guessed that it would mean more work for him (to fix the insecure system). i would have been really excited if you could have accessed teacher's profiles that way, though.

  • the fact that it's so important to them that you're not being gay already tells you:

    (1) that apparently, being gay is a phenomenon widespread enough that it concerns them.

    (2) that there's an evolutionary benefit to it that these people are trying to ignore (or are at the very least unaware of). because otherwise they wouldn't be so biased against it.

idk whether these thoughts/observations can help you, but they help me because they remind me that it's the teacher that's being out of balance, not you. and also that you're not alone with this.

  • sth similar happened to me. that might sound unhinged but i wish that teacher a particularly cruel death.

(i am still being very emotionally affected by it.)

teachers explaining to kids that their bodies are not ok and that they should feel shame for themselves is definitely not something we need. i just think it would be karmic if that teacher suffered difficulty.

  • sounds like the perfect family (/s)

why are there so many mentally ill mothers out there. probably has something with "capitalism makes people insane" or sth. at least that's my explanation. i hope you're doing better now. at least getting away from her.

  • I for one started learning a new language just last week, after my hours of work have been reduced due to AI, because i finally have the time for it :-)

  • That’s just .6% away from the all-time high of 24.9% in 1933, the height of the Great Depression.

And we all know how that ended ... we need better societal security. We need actual social safety nets.

  • what if you pour it into the ocean? eventually it will become the drinking water for everyone. what if people turn only a little bit into a bottle because of the small dosis? how do you turn into a bottle just a little bit?
