The population density of Gaza as a whole is roughly one-tenth of Mosul and yet the civilian deaths accounted for the same effort are significantly less in Gaza as compared with the 2017 capture of the Mosul. I am not sure why anyone on earth is expecting the IDF to magically do better than the world's largest coalition in history in OIR. Urban combat sucks for everyone involved.
Partially but there is also an information gap about perpetual violence coming out of Gaza from the region as well. Just because Israel got better at defending does not mean they are not reacting in a vacuum.

I'm not sure how anyone could think that a massive terror attack including rape and kidnapping by the government of a state is not justified pretense for a declaration of war. This is textbook and I'm not sure how Hamas and you could expect anything less.
