You could side load apps at least.

But I don’t think the type of person who wants to use this feature also would want the Amazon app store installed on their device.

The biggest thing is don’t accidentally give away your security questions to reset passwords to anything important.

The wedge shape is more ergonomic than you might think. My current thinkpad has a wedge shape and I love it. When Lenovo went away from the rounded corners on the palm rests my wrists started hurting right away. On a smaller laptop it matters less, but on thicker ones it’s a pretty big difference.

Also the wedge makes it feel so much smaller. The M2 could be half as thick as the M1 but feel so much bigger because of the wedge.

That doesn’t work well in a car though. It works in a phone because you’re holding it, or a trackpad because you’re putting a lot of pressure on it. In a car it’s already shaking from the engine, road, etc. Plus those taps are generally much shorter and lighter and less likely to feel the vibration.

It’s an infamous Apple silicon limitation

It's a complete SOC. CPU, GPU, RAM all integrated into one unit on the motherboard. When people talk about the "M3" in the MacBook Pro they're talking about all 3 things at once.

Your dongles probably have display link adapters in them. Display link works, but destroys your CPU since all the graphics are rendered there.

That’s awesome. Sadly it’s M3 exclusive, but I didn’t have any hope for it coming to the M1. We have 50+ of those machines at work and a few people want dual display without the display link compromise.

The 69 dollar phone is a subsidized pre paid device. They plan on taking a loss on the sale and making it up with cell plans.

Also this is a niche device for a VERY niche audience. It will never be cheap cheap, just cheap for what it is.

And thankfully the Lemmy devs are racing to fix the problem!

Does anyone know if the M3 MacBook Pro (not M3 pro CPU, fucking Apple) will support the dual display with the laptop screen closed? It's stupid that that wasn't a feature in the older models.

The M2 was basically just an overclocked M1 with a few extra cores and it ran fine with it's reduced cooling capacity. The M3, especially tuned down for the Air should perform great for what it is.

I think you're reading into things a bit too much.

Friends come and go with time, even close ones. You may not talk to someone for months, then randomly one day out of the blue you connect with them again like nothing ever happened. There's no ego involved in temporarily "losing" a friend, only to reconnect later.

Not really any different for men.

Yeah an unclean reboot shouldn’t break anything as long as it wasn’t doing anything when it went down. I’ve never had any issues when I have to crash a computer unless it was stuck doing an update.

I still root my android phone because I use an iPhone as my main phone. That way I can do whatever the fuck I want to my android phone and not care.

I stopped tinkering with ROMs a long time ago and I’ve just stuck with Nexus and Pixel devices so I don’t feel the need for a ROM.
