Apple doesn’t really do cheap computers. If you want cheap an older machine mini is your best bet. Intel Macs are tanking in value at the moment.

Apple is the king of better number bigger graph.

It’s definitely a bit of both. But nobody with an M1 Mac should really consider upgrading to an M3 unless they really want some specific new features.

You pay for linux with your time and sanity.

Those would never show up in the notification LEDs. Only temporary stuff like you've gotten a text would.

I use windows 10 and 11. Most of the complaints I see about 11 apply just as much to 10. Very little of the big complaints I see about 11 are just about it. The ones that are actually unique are more subjective (the UI changes which have gotten a lot better).

I've done something different. I just have two computers. One for just playing games (windows), and one for everything else (Mac).

At this point I have over 20 gigs of cat pictures from over 5 years. The only ones I delete are duplicates.

Open source software generally has a terrible UI/UX. It’s designed by nerd for nerds which is great if that’s you, but most people aren’t so it sucks.

And a lot of the time any attempts to improve it will get rejected because it’s a small team who works on it, and it’s exactly the way they want it. Since they don’t have to market the software there’s no incentive to make it good.

There are definitely crappy M.2 drives. Drives with no cache, slow nand, slow processors, and awful TBW. They’ll be light years faster than a hard drive, but if they fail in a year then are they not crappy?

That's mostly what I used my pro 7 for, but even that it struggled with. With nothing else running doing RDP I get 2-3 hours of battery life which is just awful. And if I try to do widi or just about anything at all on the screen I get closer to an hour of battery life until the throttling sets in and it's unusable. Thank god the pro 8 added a fan for all models.

Windows telemetry CPU usage is almost nothing. This is mostly proton/dxvk doing it's magic.

Hows battery life on the go 4? I have a surface pro 7 which is neither fast, nor gets good battery life so it's pretty useless to me.

A pro 9 with the P cores turned off or go 4 would actually be a pretty neat device for me.

I wouldn't call it FOMO, but I am sad about not seeing a lot of smaller niche communities that haven't made the switch. Maybe eventually stuff like USB C hardware will be popular enough to have the same community.

Shit I'm 6'1" and I drive a Miata.

Modern sedans are so tall you barely even get "down" into them. And you can't use the "its easier to get in" when you have to jump up into something like a Tahoe, or step up into something smaller like a Rav 4.

Still more efficient than the same thing in boxy SUV form.

I was talking to someone last year and doing 100mph in a 5.0 V8 Mustang he was getting better mpg than 70mph in a Kia Soul (about 25). Make an aerodynamic wagon and you're golden.

The ecosport has neither trunk room nor rear leg room. The only way to get any amount of space is to put the rear seats down then you can fit some things.

Height is an advantage, but length is still surprisingly short. Plus ya know, no rear passenger room.

That's definitely a problem, but the ridiculously high belt line of modern cars isn't really as affected by that though. All modern cars are basically the equivalent of the old man who pulls their pants up to their nipples.

Look at the 1990s impala vs the last gen Impala. Rear visibility is nonexistant in it because the trunk is so high.

Basically people just want to feel like their in some impenetrable fortress, at the expense of not being able to see shit around them.

HTC Evo 3D. My step brother had the Evo 4g and I was infatuated with it, plus by the time I was going to upgrade my iPhone 3G was dying.

I stayed with Android as my primary phone until like 2015 when I just kinda stopped caring about flashing roms and just wanted a phone that works. I still keep an Android phone with me.
