It can't be illegal to send you an email outside working hours, that's just silly. Now if it's illegal to demand that you read it and respond outside working hours, I would understand.
I'm a long time Sync supporter and paid for ad-free Sync for Lemmy, but I can agree that Infinity is definitely a good competitor. I'm juggling them both right now, and they're both fantastic.
I used Sync for Reddit since alpha (back when it was Reddit Sync), so I gladly paid the $20 ad removal, even though I also happen to be juggling both Sync and Infinity right now. They're both so good.
Which made me so sad. Yes, v20 was a big change, but it was overall a better experience, in my opinion. I'd been using it for a long time on the beta before it was released to stable and was absolutely shocked at its general reception.
Funnily enough, the crashes were Windows side, not Linux/Proton. Well, the stream was crashing on Linux, but not the game. But yeah, there are a lot of moving parts here, I agree.
Luckily, I got it working solid with Sunshine on Windows. Unfortunately, there's not a Sunshine build for Tumbleweed, and I can't be assed to compile it from source right now, lol.
Edit: Jesus, there are so many moving parts, I forgot which platform had which issue. I agree, there's probably something funky going on with Proton and Remote Play. But I also got Sunshine working on Linux now, and it's been flawless (after telling it which display to stream)!
All valid points (especially about the idle games, I probably need psychological help, lmao), except that I can now do all of those things with a single device that fits in my pocket. Of course I'd prefer to play games on a monitor or TV, but I don't have those on the go. Except maybe a laptop, but that's much less portable than a phone.
It's not for everybody, that's definitely true. But it works for me, much to my surprise.
I agree with you, but that line of thought doesn't apply here. Houston is famously one of the big three blue bastions in Texas, arguably the bluest, and this is a city ordinance. As a Texan, I'd expect this ordinance literally anywhere except Houston, honestly (and possibly Austin).
I've never thought about it like that, but this is so true. I've thought about how easy it would be for Nintendo to port for example gen 1 Pokemon to phones and charge $5 or $10 and make a boatload of cash. Easy money. But as you imply, that would devalue new releasesand reduce sales if people would rather spend time playing old games.
