When I urgently needed to print something a few years ago I ran to the store and purchased the cheapest laser printer I could find, which was a Ricoh for Eur 42. Windows GDI printer shit, but I also found Mac drivers and a working linux driver.
It waa the low end model, had the same printing mechanism as the larger Ricoh Multifunction things and third party toner was dirt cheap. Ah and I can't remember any paper jam.
Inkjets, especiallw those from HP are a scam.
I only threw out the (fully working) Ricoh after years, because someone gave me a network connected full color Oki Multifunction led printer device for free.
(Ah I checked later, "normal" price for the Ricoh when not on sale was Eur 75 or so)
In the 80s there was a way to cheat phone booths in Germany: With a small tool that had an adjustment screw you could position the hook switch to an exact position where the phone booth had already connected the line but did not yet power up the rest of the machinery (including coin counters)
You could then call arbitrary nunbers by pulse dialing using the hook switch (the rotary dial was still powered down)
Basically a EU pulse dial version of phreaking.
My father, who died this year, used this a lot too make "free" calls in the 80s.
Germany got a 'right on red' with reunification - it is allowed when there's a small sign on the light that explicitly allows it. In any event even if it is allowed "stop sign" rules apply.
Interestingly the number of lights with such a sign drops each year (after a peak in the 90s) because of higher than normal accident rates and other drivers honking the horn if one driver does not choose to use the "right on red" (which is perfectly fine, you are free to wait till the light is green, turning on red is only an option)
After all for German cities right on red has rather been disappointing
I have a spray bottle with an isopropanol water mixture (around 10% isopropanol) and I just give my glasses a good spray and then wipe them with a clean microfiber kitchen cloth.
(I wash these cloths with just detergent powder, no softener or other additives, so they are grease-free out of the washer)
