  • A 9News reporter has been caught in the crossfire of chaotic protests that have engulfed parts of Los Angeles.

Looks to me like the guy turned and intentionally shot her completely unprovoked. I can't tell what was happening In front of her though if she was really in crossfire.

  • I would say OLED, though I had an old tv from 2017 that showed significant burn in after 4-5 years of usage. Anything that was red had a permanent shadow like the Netflix logo and some tv channel logos. As someone with hearing loss I also always have subtitles on which causes shadows there too.

Now it's apparently much better nowadays, still happens with excessive usage and I actually ended up buying an LCD tv this time. I do miss the OLED razor sharp contrast though.

Ed i: I just checked my pixel 5 phone with an OLED screen, it does indeed also have burn in on the top row when I put a red or green picture full screen. I wouldn't notice it unless I really looked though.

  • Half way through totk I realized that I was missing a lot by hopping into the nearest tower and flying everywhere. I've started a new botw run now and so doing it all without warping, it's quite a differ nice experience and I'm really enjoying it.

  • I think it's a threat to ensure that TikTok does what he says. Lots of reports (that I as an Australian can't verify before it works for me) of searches for Trump incriminating videos are returning no results since it came back. It feels like there were conditions on not banning TikTok.

  • I'm using pass, the Unix standard password manager. While the original application is just a. shell script, gpg and git, it seems to have evolved more into a standard structure of encrypted files that any applications can use.

On UNIX I use gopass, on my phone I use Password store together with open keychain.

Benefits: completely self hosted, well known and robust technology, easy for developers to make applications or even just read the files youself

Cons: Need to setup and maintain gpg keys. Applications I've used so far seem geared to more technical people. Setting up a new device requires copying gpg keys or generating new ones and add the public key to your vault. Last I checked, no viable IOS client.

Depending on your view this can be either pro or con, but you can store your 2fa and password in the same repo, all protected by your gpg keys.
