I actually discovered some interesting things in google play music back in the day. The play random music button actually had a few golden moments too.
Spotify just..... Feeds me what I'm already listening too. The discover weekly suggestions are usually useless for me.
It's Harder to solve than you think. I came upon a documentary a while ago where they go a bit more in depth on the subject and what cheaters can do nowadays.
No company has solved the problem tbh. Even games like counter strike are riddled with cheaters and even on faceit there's plenty of people that are dodgy AF and likely cheat.
It's not an easy problem to solve and it is, AFAIK, still an unsolved problem in shooters. So your comment is a bit salty. Might as well claim every game engineer worldwide isnt good at their job because nobody has solved this yet. Not that I'm defending riot.
The rootkit "solution" is complete bullshit. It is completely disproportionate and a massive security/privacy risk. And to top it off it's not even a solution that's good enough.
Their infotainment system and app are pretty great compared to some other brands.
I'm currently driving a VW id5 and it's like they've never designed any kind of software interfaces at all.
Example:
the VW app can tell me the car is unlocked, but can't lock it for me.
it can't show me the VIN number, even though I had to use it to register it ( it was hidden in my user profile on the site somewhere )
I can let it pre-heat and such, but only on two schedules .
can't schedule appointments through the app
that weird sliding thingy for switching between speed limiter and cruise control is unintuitive AF
every other time I'm driving it's giving me a pop up saying "there are new updated user settings for your account". With only an ok and a cancel button. Where are they? What are they? Where can I find them? Did clicking"ok" accept them? Not a clue. When does it show this message that blocks the rest of the UI? After 1 minute of driving.
Not to hate on VW engineers but goddamnit guys. Get your shit together and hire a UX expert. Shortly drove a BMW 1 series before the VW and the infotainment was a lot more practical to use.
I don't need people to be hyper-privacy minded.
But just a little bit at least. I'm not expecting everybody to self host a matrix server and use element and run self hosted services on their own RPI.
Used to have two. Went back to one.
Professionally I feel like 2 monitors is a must ( excl. Laptop ). Or a single big ass monitor.
We've got ( a single ) curved screens at work. It also works because it's wide enough.
Professionally I do believe it boosts productivity. Personally/at home not really ( for me ). It can be convenient if you play an MMO and want to look something up while still seeing the game.
I do have a spare monitor but I disconnected it as I was rarely using it.
Exactly. Same as is happening with privacy right now. Chip away bit by bit. Do it all at once and people will complain. But do it bit by bit and they won't know until it's too late.
Similarly to the story of the frog in the boiling water. Drop it in hot water and it'll jump out. Heat the water slowly and it'll boil to death.
But hey. At least we've got nothing to hide right? /S
I think it's related maybe to some anti terrorism law? In certain EU countries for example it's impossible to get an anonymous SIM due to some anti terrorism legislation. SSNs are the only legal identification I guess?
This is a random guess off the top of my head. IANAL or know anything specific on US law.
Indeed it is not! Yup. Multi day phones are great!
I charged mine Friday at 8-8.30. it's currently at 50%.
I don't have the stats like you do though. And I think I likely have less screentime. So the pixel8 boasts impressive battery as well for your usage!
Let's hope it lasts! ( I have had this one for about 4 months ).
One weird thing on the pixel 6. One day, randomly, battery life improved by a lot. I assumed it was some kind of update. A few weeks later it reverted to the precious behavior.

YouTube music is just worse than GPM too.
