  • My main issue is that if I add the bitwarden TOTP secret string manually multiple times its generating different codes between the entries. Which seems like something that shouldn't happen.

It is a different format to the other ones I've got though.

Fuck Microsoft authenticator though. Had to restore it to a new phones once and if you don't do it on initial startup you can't restore it at all. Good thing I had a secondary app that still had them. Absolute garbage.

  • That's indeed what I meant. Similar to how OKTA, battle.net, or the Microsoft authenticator works( in corporate environments).

You receive a push notification which asks if you're trying to log in and approve it, followed by a fingerprint or a pin code to confirm, rather than having to type in the code generated by your app

  • Weird. If I copy the TOTP code from bitwarden into their 2fa app I get different codes. Not even after a rotation ( one isn't ahead of the other ). That doesn't seem right :/

  • I always thought it was weird try and get your job back that way. Some severance payout I can understand. An conviction of the company and a fine to be paid to you ( the unfairly fired workers ) . also yes.

But your job back? They're going to find a way to fire you legally one way or the other. Or deny you any kind of promotion(title or financially ). Heck, make your life hell while working there. Or include you in the next downsizing they do. Why no just sue for money due to unlawful termination?

  • I had one of those. It worked well until I filled it up dor 90% ( photo backup while on holiday so I could keep taking pictures. ). It became laggy and slow. Even after doing a full reset.

At one point one of the keys in the keyboard got detached/broke. Was within the warranty period so i contacted them.

Sent the photos they asked. They still couldn't determine the damage or if it was under warranty. So they wanted me to send it in free of charge. Then they would determine if it was under warranty.

If yes, they would repair it and return it for free If no, I would have to pay 50€ to get it back unfixed. Or more if I would ask them to fix it.

I never did it because I felt like they were just going to say "no warranty" for a quick and easy 50€...

  • The battery on their arm devices are insane. I can disconnect my laptop at 100% without shutting it down. Go home. Sleep. And then work another 8h without the battery dying on me.

It's very impressive. I can't think of other laptops that have comparable battery life/performance combo as that macbook pro.

My previous (work) dell laptop barely made 4h ( more like 3 ) and was in the same price range. While I'm not an apple fanboy at all, and there are basis things it just cant do natively ( keyboard window management needs an external app?? ), their macbooks are absolutely the best laptops I've ever worked with.

  • Legitimate interest is just bullshit.

    Can I have your:

    • wallet
    • emails received
    • telephone number
    • pin code
    • visa card numbers
    • browser history
    • home address
    • dates you won't be home
    • alarm code

I too am legitimately interested in this data.

  • Steam went better than lutris for me as well. It all worked out of the box without any tweaks.

Only issue I have is that when i alt tab I can't get back in the game for some reason. Screen stays black or it auto minimises again. I forgot.

  • Firefox also had a period where it was slow AF. I switched to chrome at that point which was a lot faster.

I've ( happily ) been on Firefox these past few years though. Firefox addons on mobile devices is a blessing too.

I enjoyed vivaldi as well before I went back to Firefox. Too bad it's chromium based :(.

  • I'm all for it as long as you keep using your brain. Coworker of mine set something upn on AWS that wasn't working. Going through it I found the error. He said he tried it using chatgpt. He knows how to do it himself, he knows the actual mistake was a mistake, but he trusted Amazon Q when it said the mistake was correct. Even when double checking.

    Trust, but verify.

I found it to be a helpful tool in your toolkit. Just like being able to write effective search queries is. Copying scripts off the internet and running them blindly is a bad idea. The same thing holds up for LLMs.

It may seem like it knows what it's talking about, but it can often talk out of its arse too...

I've personally had good results with 3.5 on the free tier. Unless you're really looking for the latest data
