  • It's even worse than last time because the DNC had a house majority the first time and the senate was 50:50, with 7 GOP crossing the aisle in the senate to get 57 of the 67 needed to remove.

    Now, Republicans have a solid house majority and 53 in the senate. We would need full attendence, several house turncoats, and 20 senate GOP to remove him this time.

  • Things were going well until Xi Jinping became a dictator and China reversed the One Child Policy. Although, TBH, the CCP was always corrupt, but it's definitely stepped up recently.

    We also managed to slightly curb the population growth in the Middle East before the Taliban resurgence. The middle east is the fastest growing population, and a 1995 UN Meeting in Cairo Egypt came to the conclusion that education and rights for women were the ideal solutions to the problem.

  • That would be a surprisingly realistic bump in the middle where molten granite spiked upwards, but I don't think nukes have quite that much power. Don't get me wrong, they could end life on earth, but they won't have the same or more localized impact than the meteor did.
