What exactly do you think the outcome would be if the house successfully initiated an impeachment?

I mean, an Impeachment trial without any possibility of removal seems pretty pointless, yeah. It takes 67 Senators to remove. The DNC with caucus have 47. They probably don't even have enough votes to pass a simple majority purely symbolic impeachment, much less removal from office.

TBH they're representing my interests pretty well in this case. An impeachment trial would have just been a huge waste of time unless 20 Republican Senators joined the 47 DNC caucus to remove Trump and I can tell you right now with a 99.9% certainty that wasn't going to happen.

And if they pass a primary vote for them anywars, because they're still better than any GOP even if they didn't hold a third purely symbolic impeachment.

Not killed. The Impeachment can still procede, they've simply chosen not to do it now when Republicans hold house and senate majorities. The votes needed to remove Trump are 67, meaning you would need 20 GOP Senators.

If Democrats had actual power to do something about it then you'd have a great argument, but they've had 50 or less in the senate for more than a decade and Trump is in power with a plurality election result.

Even the impeachment trial never would have convinced 20 GOP senators to cross the aisle to remove Dump from office, it's better to save it for later.

Not kill, shelve. Let's be honest, you weren't going to get dozens of GOP votes in the house and 20 in the senate to remove Trump anyways. If you want Trump gone then the only way is helping the DNCs take a huge midterm majority.

It's even worse than last time because the DNC had a house majority the first time and the senate was 50:50, with 7 GOP crossing the aisle in the senate to get 57 of the 67 needed to remove.

Now, Republicans have a solid house majority and 53 in the senate. We would need full attendence, several house turncoats, and 20 senate GOP to remove him this time.
