OK, I knew it already but let's set that aside. How many of us are the president of the united states, purported "leader of the free world?" The responsibilities and expectations differ slightly.

I didn't even consider compatibility with a medical device. Good point.

I quite honestly have only found one app that doesn't work: eBay. Even my banking app works. I've had zero issues, I'd even venture to say a better overall experience than stock android has ever been. There is such a granular level of control. I love it.

Crimes were not committed against the parents. There is no gag order on publicly posted info. If they receive threats as a result, THEN a crime will have occurred: it is illegal to make threats.

Please show me the law that was broken by referencing publicly available posts voluntarily shared by the people in question. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's a "criminal act."

Actually they did when they posted their names and photos publicly to the internet. "Public" doesn't mean only the people that you like.

Edit: Additionally, I find your "people like you" statement hilarious. You know nothing about me, you're upset that these parents were publicly identified, and you assume my motivations (completely incorrectly.) When something is PUBLICLY posted, that means there are NO restrictions on who sees it. Consent is not qualified by "oh I posted it publicly but not for this group of people I don't like." Public means everyone. Had they posted it PRIVATELY, you'd have an argument. But they did not, so you don't have a valid argument, you're just upset. There's a difference between the two.

Well that was a crazy read. Never seen a company act this way before. Sounds like a very small operation. Unfortunately their products don't appeal to me at all, I'd much rather buy a Framework.

These power hungry tyrants just can't STAND the idea of normal humans being able to communicate without their prying eyes spying on us. They claim this is for the purpose of protecting the public. This is plainly not true, as crime will occur regardless. They cannot eliminate crime, despite their outrageous claims, nor do they actually want to. E2EE comms will be used to plan crime sometimes. Sorry, not sorry. Privacy is worth that cost. I'll die on that hill.

The solution is to stop putting your data on other people's computers. You can't control other people's computers. Apple does not care about you any more than any other trillion dollar corpo. Take back control.
