Unsatisfactory for what? The only things I can't find on RD are occasional really old or foreign films/shows. Even then there's usually at least a 480p version if I'm really desperate. I have considered switching to Usenet before but it seemed super complicated.
if I say I'm not interested In something they take no notice and send it to my recommendations again regardless.
omg yes fuck this. I constantly get fed entire categories of videos on games which I actively hate; I have never watched a single video for any of them and have said "not interested" to probably 50+ videos, but they still pop up every day.
Totally this for me and I'm someone who understands how bad Google is. I've been using the same Gmail account for twenty years. It's such an integral part of my everyday life. I have hundreds of stars on maps, a meticulously organised and synced Drive, all my YouTube favourites and subscriptions, Photos that are all mostly geotagged, etc. Degoogling would just be such a major hassle, and all my stuff would never be as nicely integrated ever again.
I'm very tech-literate but Discord has always seemed so fucking messy to me. So many channels and emojis and I barely know how to send someone a DM or add them to my friends list or whatever. How on earth are you supposed to keep track of anything?
I honestly hardly even play retro games, but for some reason I love getting controllers. I use the official controllers with my PS4 and PS5, but I also have two 8bitDo SN30 Pros, and 8bitDo Ultimate BT which I use for PC and Switch, and even an arcade stick somewhere (I made a promise to myself that I was gonna pick a fighting game to get good at, but never did).
I also used to run a LOT and now can't anymore cause of injury. Tried swimming but it wasn't enough to keep me in shape due to my age and...indulgent lifestyle.
Going to the gym became my only option and yeah, the results were almost instantaneous. I lost quite a few kilos, felt more energised, and my outward appearance improved.
I think when you consider the positives it makes a lot of sense...
You feel good for challenging yourself, and even better when you succeed.
You feel good full stop because exercise gives your endorphins.
You feel good for sticking to a routine. This has the added benefit of demanding that you are more organised generally, in order to make time for workouts.
You feel good because you start to look better.
You feel good because it helps to relieve day-to-day stress that builds up.
I'm not aiming to get huge or anything. But I think the benefits should be pretty obvious. I enjoy going for the reasons I just listed and cause I can listen to music on my headphones and kind of zone out.
I don't mean to steal attention away from Iceland and hope you are all safe, but it's a similar thing in Japan. We're due for a megathrust earthquake that could be way way worse than Fukushima.
I'm on Jerboa for the moment, it gets the job done, was more intuitive for me than Liftoff. With that said I will 100% be switching to Boost when it's available.
Tunic is the best new game I have played in a long time. It's very very clever. It's definitely not just a Zelda clone, or an isometric Soulslike. I 100% recommend it but DO NOT LOOK ANYTHING UP BEFOREHAND. The feeling of discovery it gives you is the best part.
Another thing that nobody could have foreseen is people posting racist/sexist/hateful stuff in general, and then somebody like their employer digging it up later. Bye bye career and reputation. Those people probably deserve it but still.
Hey yo I also type 50/50 in Japanese and English and came here wondering if there were any Gboard alternatives out there yet.
