  • Okay so I read further into Stamets' rant and it's me. I'm the reason he left startrek.website. I'm the reason he's manufactured this feud. He got upset that he admins here wouldn't ban me and went to make his own community with blackjack and hookers banning people for being disabled

  • So I googled it, and the only result is a post of Stamets complaining. Well, good riddance. Stamets is a misogynist, lesbophobic, transphobic piece of shit who yells slurs at mentally ill people. In the past I stopped using startrek.website for a few months because the admins sided with Stamets' transphobia. If the admins have gotten fed up with Stamets' bullshit, then I support them 100%.

Also Stamets' communities literally banned me for having a mental disorder. Fuck Stamets.

  • Side note:

If marriage is between a man and a woman as Republicans claim, then Mrs is not only a gender identity but also a sexual identity, and is doubly prohibited.

(Arguments that Mrs entails allosexual identity are equally predicated on Republican misconception, in this case lack of understanding of the sex/romance distinction)

  • I've seen that story before, and it doesn't answer my question. I don't think this is an issue teachers can solve by malicious compliance doing the right thing. This is an issue that parents need to solve. Because the bill allows parents to sue (and therefore establish legal precedent), not teachers. If a teacher uses genderless language, as you say, they'll get fired. But if a parent sues a school for having the words he and she, and wins, it is now an incontrovertible part of the law that he and she are forbidden in Florida schools. This means teachers can no longer be punished for following the law, it means they have to follow the law, and this will have a much bigger impact on headlines due to its wider and firmer scope.

Why hasn't a parent done this?

  • I don't think it would be evil to ban gendered pronouns in Florida schools. I think it would provoke a great deal of careful thought in these schools and broaden students' horizons. And I also think the Republicans would immediately undo it to "save the kids" by repealing the Don't Say Gay bill inside of a month. So ultimately no harm done, and quite likely some good for the students. But on a broader level, it would do a lot of good by repealing the bill and making Republican policies look hostile to Republican voter interests, delegitimising the party's image in Florida and swinging the state left.

  • The reason LLM is like a child is that it doesn't have critical thinking. It doesn't think before it opens its mouth. LLM is the part of your brain that comes up with the first, most obvious answer. It's Wernicke's area going wild.

  • While it is true that most trans women are very bad at sports because they're big nerds and generally can't compete, there are a few trans women who through great effort have managed to reach a level on par with cis athletes. For example a few years ago a trans person won an Olympic medal for the first time, and that's huge. Now obviously this is after 15 years of trans women being allowed into the Olympics, and hundreds and hundreds of cis women winning medals, so this isn't to make the claim that trans women are generally equal to cis women in sports. But eventually someone trans was good enough to compete at the Olympic level, and that's something to be proud of! I don't think we should be barring ALL trans people from sports just because most of us suck at them.

  • Most boys are perfectly capable of being in the same room as a penis without losing their minds. If we're going to end segregation then we need to get everyone comfortable with being in the same room as other naked people. I say we give those pervy cis girls some mandatory sensitivity training on when it is not appropriate to look at other people's junk.

  • Found it: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10445679/Lia-Thomas-UPenn-teammate-says-trans-swimmer-doesnt-cover-genitals-locker-room.html

'It's definitely awkward because Lia still has male body parts and is still attracted to women,' one swimmer on the team told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview.

While Lia covers herself with a towel sometimes, there’s a decent amount of nudity, the swimmer said. She and others have had a glimpse at her private parts.

"Help, help, I'm being repressed! I stared at a teenage girl's genitals and now I'M uncomfortable!"

  • I remember that headline where the story is that a bunch of cis girls in a changeroom were perving on their underage swim teammate and staring at her penis. Like literally there were lines in the article that were like "I couldn't stop staring at my teammate's dick". And then the headline on the article and the narrative framing is "trans girl makes teammates uncomfortable by using changeroom for its intended purpose. How dare she!"

  • The people defending Swift don't worship her, they're just scared she's being criticized for the wrong reasons. They think everyone calling her a polluter is lying or mistaken about their political motivations, and is actually influenced by misogyny.
