  • It's worth noting that even if "your guy" Republican hasn't actually voted for or said anything bad, they are complicit in allowing their colleagues to do so.

I.e., it's not just McConnell, but him and 49 other senators that allow him to lead.

  • Yeah, it’ll cost something to build out infra to support that much power but honestly the US grid needs the upgrades anyhow- and if anything, electricity is relatively cheap compared to buying gas

It's a good thing that Inflation Reduction Act Biden got passed includes a crapton of money to help businesses pay for chargers and other infrastructure, eh?

  • While you're absolutely right that a SCOTUS justice won't be removed via impeachment and trial in the Senate, the impeachment and the trial itself grant Congress WIDE lattitude to perform investigations and the trial, a spectacle in its own right, means all that evidence is brought into the light for the people to see.

Again, while removal is unlikely, the remaining corrupt justices along with their handlers, will almost certainly want to prevent such a trial, and would pressure the impeached justice to resign to avoid it.

If the trial happens, though, a huge portion of the country gets to learn and understand just how corrupt and fickle our court is, which is something almost no one in power wants. That, alone, should be reason to push for impeachment as hard as possible.

  • Fine! Geez.

Space aliens could teleport in next to sun, fling a bunch of Star Trek red matter at it like Spock did to the Romulan star, destabilize the star, and cause a, I think it was a black hole? where the star was. And we wouldn't know for 8-ish minutes.

  • My favorite part of this story has consistently been imagining the poor person that has to figure out how to communicate this in so few words. Like, "How should I word this? Restroom mishap? No, it's not just the restroom. Passenger soiled in aisle? No, it's mo--" "BITCH JUST SAY DIARRHEA ALL OVER JESUS!"

  • It may be difficult to spoof a certificate today, but tomorrow is a whole new day. To wit, OpenSSL has a pretty long history of serious vulnerabilities, despite being the best SSL library out there.

It is absolutely only a matter of time until the Tesla OTA functionality is compromised. There's too many moving parts for it to not be.

  • No, ACA compliant plans are the standard, including employer-sponsored plans.

Every ACA compliant plan has the same list of minimum coverages, including the above.

Every state-run plan under Medicare and Medicaid are also ACA compliant.

If you've chosen a non-compliant plan, or opted to skip your state's healthcare exchange, or are unlucky enough to live in a state where Republicans have tried to fuck you over by not expanding Medicaid under the ACA, I'm sorry.

None of those things, though, affect the mental healthcare provider shortage in this country, though. If you're still waiting for an appointment, perhaps you should call back and check for open slots regularly?

  • Agreed. The best things you can do to protect yourself from COVID are getting vaccinated and staying up-to-date with any boosters and maintaing basic hygiene like washing your hands before sticking your fingers in your mouth, etc.

Masks are best at keeping your germs to yourself, so you don't spread it to others.

Before the onset of this latest surge, if you weren't sick, and did the above, there was no real reason to regularly wear a mask. No reason for regret.
