  • It's because in the heavily divided Senate, there is no way he would be removed, and failing to remove him after impeachment would be taken as tacit approval of his corruption.

Democrats are just not touching that with a ten foot pole.

  • G+'s downfall was they kept it invite-only too long. Demand was there, people wanted in but Google was like, "Nah..."

By the time it was open-access, everyone had moved on or back to their old social media platforms. It could've been great, but Google, in typical Google fashion, got distracted by something shiny and killed it.

  • It's rarely that the job won't let you vote, it's that people can't afford to take the time off needed to vote.

Remember, the GOP has spent decades working to disenfranchise voters, and one of the many tactics they use is closing polling stations in areas likely to vote against them, making in-person voting an ardious, hours-long process.

Who do you sue when the lines at the polling stations are 8 hours long?

  • It's difficult to pin down "when did mRNA research begin?" but, a pretty good date is to say, "The 1990s." But you could go back as far as 1960 or 1970 if you were being technical.

    https://publichealth.jhu.edu/2021/the-long-history-of-mrna-vaccines has a good write-up.

mRNA technology is a HUGE breakthrough. Like I said, we were lucky it was essentially ready and able to help with the COVID vaccine development when it was.

  • I was permabanned from.. some sub, I don't even recall which, in a discussion about why LGBTQ+ rights were still incredibly important and cited the Westboro Baptist Church's "God Hates F***s" signs (just like that) as an example of the kind of hate and vitriol LGBTQ+ people have to face daily. I was banned for using a hate slur.
