  • The phrase "Fuck you, pay me" comes to mind.

Cheapskates don't get top of the line security hardening. Pay more now or suffer a breach and pay contractors $1000/hr to fix your broken shit because you paid minimum wage for an administrator position and wanted them to do 5 jobs at once.

  • This argument is oft repeated but It's Bullshit. If it wasn't valuable why is Spez okay with it?

Stock grants not being direct Income isn't clickbait nonsense. It's actually DELIBERATE: Spez doesn't pay income taxes on a majority of his income. Capital gains tax has a lot of loopholes that can be exploited.

This just gives spez more money and he can cash out in the IPO.

  • The point I was trying to make (and I should have made properly) is that paid software has a free tier supported by ads. It being paid is just a trigger that makes me think "are they injecting google's code in their product". And if they are then your data IS being collected without your consent or knowledge by Google. (Same goes for any other "ad" provider). Who knows what the google API call takes?

  • It looks like every 20's we have the leader thing win against the freedom thing. Then the leader kind of turns against the followers and the freedom thing resurfacss agqin. But since the freedom thing needs a lot of responsibility thing and people eventually fail to secure themselves the leader thing naturally arises again.

    Edit: fixed a thing.
