  • Seems easy to loophole around as well. Since the downside is “you” can only shop at Amazon, you just need someone else to do your regular shopping. Of course you could be screwed if Amazon ever shuts down.

  • I take my time putting up Christmas (as others mentioned the season traditionally lasts until Epiphany (Jan 6), and some traditions don’t even celebrate it until that day.) usually somewhere between the first nutcracker and last ornament I transition from missing Christmas to looking forward to being done with it.

Then I transition that into “spring cleaning”. I clean out the attic before moving the Christmas boxes back into storage, and tackle other areas that accumulated junk and boxes over the past year.

Like a lot of people, I also like to try something new or different. It can be as simple as a new tv show or streaming service, new author, new video game, or a new recipe, new hobby, etc. maybe go to the movies a few times or eat out somewhere special.

  • I store filament in a tight sealing, food grade, bucket with a rechargeable silica gel device, and a cheap hygrometer. The round spools fit well in the round bucket. The silica gel device can be plugged in for a few hours to dry the gel for reuse. Last time I checked the bucket was around 10% humidity in a house around 45%.

  • It ends too soon… because of how early it starts, by the time the holiday actually gets here people are already over it and in a rush to shove it away. The actual holiday almost seems like an afterthought and is quickly dismissed. Christmas should be the climax of the season, but instead it is the ending title card.

I think I would prefer an older style Christmas where the season starts much closer to dec 25 and lasts through epiphany.

  • Best: I honestly cannot decide between Oshi no ko, Frieren, and Apothocary Diaries. Each is excellent but in different ways.

Worst… Maybe the fruit of evolution. The first season had a quirky dumb sense of humor that made it work, but what little I saw of season two was just bad.

  • Yes, until proven otherwise… call it a coping mechanism.

In 2020, Trump was blamed for exacerbating the pandemic, the economy was struggling, the Black Lives Matter movement was at its peak, etc. the stage was set for an easy win, but democrats barely won control of the senate and Biden’s victory was close enough to let Trumps election nonsense get traction.

Now going into 2024, Biden is taking the blame for everything, is in a no win situation on Israel, and is doing poorly in polls (especially concerning since lately polls have under represented trump voters.) then there are all the protest voters who imply they will vote for trump out of spite or just cause they hate Biden and the DNC…

My two big questions right now are 1) will trump be in jail (seems unlikely considering how nothing ever sticks to the man and he has a stacked court in his favor) and 2) what effect will the actual campaign season and especially political ads have on voters (a brilliant campaign could do wonders for Biden).

There is also the chance that the average American’s experiences with the economy improve next year. Inflation is down, wages are growing, unions are seeing success, the Israel situation will hopefully be done well before the election, etc.

  • Lincoln’s booth in Ford’s theater on the night of the assassination right before it happens. Saving the president will immediately give me some credibility and influence, and it could improve reconstruction of the south to an extent that positively impacts modern America.

  • A set of interwoven stories, the main being a love story. At the very end, right as everything is coming together, the planet explodes and as the screen zooms out to show the death star next to a debris field music begins to play... looking for love in Alderaan places

  • Prosperity gospel is one of the most vile and evil things to ever come out of the church. It is not just an easy way to scam "christians" into funding private jets for influential "pastors" but permeates the world view of many Americans. If you believe wealth is a direct result of personal effort and holiness, then all rich people no matter how obviously corrupt must be "good", "godly" people worthy of respect and conversely, all poor people must be horrible sinners who deserve their poverty.

Never mind verses like " 21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” " (Matthew 19)
