That's definitely not intended behavior. I'm having some trouble reproducing the bug--could you provide some more information?
Mlem version
How long does it take to produce the behavior (i.e., how long do you have to spend with Mlem in the background before returning to the app reloads it)?
We're still getting all our .19 compatibility in order. It's a top priority, and we're aiming to have a TestFlight out this weekend and an App Store release soon thereafter.
We've been working on it. A simple tap to jump to the top is pretty easy--things get tricky when you start adding complications like "jump back into the feed" or "navigate up a level," which require a more sophisticated architecture from the ground up. It is in active development, though, so we hope to have a prototype out soon enough.
I've tossed it onto the backlog--I like the idea, but there are a lot of different moving pieces involved to make that happen. Many of them are already scoped, but I can't give a concrete timeline right now.
It is, though it might be a little while before it's ready. Apple charges a small fee for push notifications and the project currently has no money to speak of. We're looking into options for setting up a proper donation system, but it's a bit complicated as we're a team and not a solo dev.
It's certainly on our radar--we've discussed the idea in the past, though we've got a bunch of higher priority items to clear before we can revisit it in earnest.
We're working on it--our next release is largely focused on preparing for Lemmy's .19 update, but we're hoping to have post searching back either in that release or the one after.
That functionality has been moved into the widget customizer. You can configure the layout of your buttons in Settings -> Appearance -> Posts or Comments -> Customize Widgets
Re: messages, right now we're sticking with what we've got--we'll get around to bringing its design more in line with the rest of the app, but we're holding off until we've got something we're really happy with.
Hmm, that's odd. We're using the stock Apple material kit, which does in theory follow that setting automatically. As far as I can tell it works as intended on my device--it does remain a little transparent, as do Apple's native apps, but it cranks the blur. Please let me know if this is the behavior you see or if it is genuinely bugged (compact post mode is a good way to check this--normally a thumbnail will just color the first fifth of the tab bar, and in low transparency mode it'll pretty much bleed to the whole thing).
We also have a setting in Accessibility to entirely disable translucent insets, which might give you the behavior you want.
If you're on the beta version, you can turn it off in Settings > General > Haptic Level.
If you're on the stable (App Store) build, this feature isn't available yet, but we're planning to release an App Store update within the next few days that will bring this feature (and many others!) to the stable build.
That was the original functionality. iOS 17 broke the widget customizer pretty hard, and we're still patching it back together. We're hoping to have it fixed within the next few days.
