Damn, I’m surprised to see a Lunacid post on Lemmy
I didn't see any posts about this game so decided to make the first step myself!
Certain spells can be pretty OP throughout the game if you focus on your magic skills.
On my first playthrough I had a magic-focused character, and yeah, magic is extremely strong in this game! That's why on my vampire run I decided to ban any attacking spells, to focus more on weapons.
My main problem with vampires was taking damage when using holy water - it's really important in some areas like the prison (fucking dogs...), and not being able to just use it whenever I want was... annoying.
I don't regret playing as a melee vampire, I learned to use blocking effectively (I basically never used it on my first playthrough) and the quirks were neat even if not really that impactful gameplay-wise.
I’m kinda working on collecting all the items so I can get the last ending.
Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls.
The series have plenty of difficult boss fights but this one is earlier than most and the biggest difficulty spike in the entire game IMHO.
Outside of the Souls games, there's Lil' Hunter from Nuclear Throne. I tried to beat this little trashcan SO many times and succeeded only once. It's insane.
Also shout-out to Hush from the Binding of Isaac for almost giving me a heart attack when I was fighting it as the tainted lost. Never again.
I hope more people with niche interests will come to Lemmy - this is the only use case for this kind of social media for me, and Lemmy's a bit lacking in this regard.
But yeah, I'm not looking forward to those redditors who assume everyone's a cis man and stuff :\
The game expects you to figure stuff out on your own so I recommend to take it slow and look closely at what data is available to you. (Or just finding a guide that explains elemental damage and items if you don't wanna do this)
The game's system is simpler than it seems and it's very rewarding to finally learn and master it.
The game starts out kinda tough so no surprise you bounced off. I took my time to learn how elemental resistances work and write down what resistances different enemies have and the game clicked. It was very satisfying to finally be able to destroy piranhas after they harassed my young adventurers for so long~
I like how you used arguments that were/are used by T-exclusive LGB folks to dehumanize a different marginalized group and Lemmy users just ate it up.
It makes a mockery of real [gender issues | issues homosexuals deal with]. I fully support anyone who wants to [be anywhere on the spectrum of existing genders | live openly with their partner of the same sex]. What I’m not sure I support is indulging people’s possible mental illness by pretending it’s ok that they believe [they’re a fictional creature that only exists in fantasy | can just change their sex to the opposite].
You even used the "they're just mentally ill" argument against them, you don't even try to hide that you're just riding a wave of what's socially accepted already and what's not yet.
I fully support anyone who wants to be anywhere on the spectrum of existing genders.
Can you list all these genders you accept so I know which ones are pure fantasy for you? Y'know, mere twenty years ago most people wouldn't say more than two of them.
We know that it is possible for people to be assigned one sex at birth, but then fit anywhere in the spectrum. We also know that it is not possible for someone’s gender to be “unicorn.” Because unicorns aren’t real
"Men" and "women" are just social roles made up in the Stone Age and changed somewhat during the centuries of human history, that are just so happened to be bound to our genitals. There's nothing real about it.
When people on the left legitimize these people’s obviously absurd claims, it is used as a cudgel to harm the trans community.
Are we politicians or what? Why should we make our identity 'presentable' for bigots?
@HelixDab2@lemm.ee I don't see your reply from my instance for some reason so I'll reply this way.
Try to get asylum in a less awful country.
Easier said than done unfortunately.
BTW, just want to point out that the implicit assumption here is that OP is queer, and wants to fund a support group. But it’s also possible that OP is homophobic, and wants to find queer people in order to publicly out them.
This is a fair concern although I doubt bigots would ask here instead of e.g. Reddit.
Someone actually recomended datapps to me to find queers so thank you for this warning. Though I would skip them anyway because they're such a privacy nightmare.
A lot of help and support from people around me. Without them I would never be able to finish my college. And then overcoming my social awkwardness with a patient and caring person. Also gaining economic independence was huge for me.
I was kinda like your friend. There's probably some obstacle that prevents her from working on herself. It's easy with depression/anxiety to just blame yourself while ignoring obvious external reason.
