The end goal of capitalism is never to produce a product or service. It is to produce a profit, full stop, no questions asked. The information age was doomed from the start once they realized it enabled profits without a product.
I think they're fine. All a web seed is, is a direct server download to your torrent client as if you clicked "download" in your browser. It causes no damage to the torrent if they go down, although if web seeds are holding illegal content they pose much greater risks to those hosting them.
They're usually used to make the initial seeding go faster, since you can web seed to the crucial first 10 seeders very quickly via instead of piecemeal uploading the torrent to the entire peer cloud parts at a time and potentially never getting the complete torrent out for days and days.
Considering how much shit I see retail workers go through, this... honestly seems like a rational response. I'm sure it will immediately turn into middle managers using it to abuse employees of course though.
Tech companies have been doing massive layoffs recently
A. Sort of big, not recession-inducing.
B. Intentionally done by the larger companies to price-fix the tight job market so they don't have to pay so much.
They are "technically correct" measurements since they are a valid prefix, and could be used if you wanted. but they are very infrequently used in any industry. Since most of the time measurements are better served by higher precision (just using Meters) or need no precision at all over long distance (switch to kilometers), no need for excess measurement types unless necessary
Communist =! Luddites. Just because they're choosing to live in a different social structure does not remove them from modern technology. You'd still be useful, up-skill to basic power systems to keep the lights on and you'd be golden.
They also can't produce anything new, which means the now limited resource can only appreciate in value.
