  • The US and UK have been trying to coup the Venezuelan government for years; their opinions have zero credibility here. But Gabriel Boric seems to be a reasonably sensible and neutral leader, so I think his reading should be given some consideration.

  • The word 'Marxism' means five different things in five different fields. You'll need to be clearer about what exactly you feel should change.

From what I understand, the core ideas of Marxism - the ones about epistemiology, metaphysics, sociology and history - are more or less universally accepted in those fields (to the point that a student of, say, history may learn Marx's theories as revealed truth, without even questioning them). His writings on economics are controversial, but again the core of it has remained largely unchanged.

Also, Marx thought of sociology, economics and so on as sciences, meaning that a theory is either right or wrong (or partially right). How many people believe in them has no effect on their truth value. So I don't get what you mean by an 'ideology that is friendly to a large part of the population or marginalized groups'.

  • If you bought it, and they didn't compensate you for it, then it is legally yours. (Of course, the work-related data is theirs unless stated otherwise.) If you ask them officially (e.g. e-mail IT support), they have to tell you what, if any, control they have. They can lie, but no one is risking jail term over such small stakes.

As for software, they might have asked you to install some antivirus / security software, that may give them some control over your computer.

Also, as the other poster said, they can control anything you do using your Office account. So don't use your work e-mail for anything personal. And Microsoft may 'back-up your files to the work account's OneDrive, so go check those systems.

In general, I don't think a university would do anything malicious, but they could be incompetent and leak your data to a third party.

  • You'll have to be more specific. Who bought the device? What OS is it running? What work software are installed on it?

Depending on the configuration, they can have anything from zero access to full control of the device.

  • Neither side wants to station troops on the Himalayas. It is far too dangerous and expensive. During the last India-Pakistan war, more soldiers died due to the weather than in the fighting. A mutual withdrawal that both sides can trust is the best outcome.

  • I mean for those plants the model should be trained to spit out the next highest common denominator / family instead of the specific species.

Most people are going to take photos of the leaves, stem or at best the outside of the flowers. These are rarely conserved within families. You'll need the arrangement of the four floral whorls to name a family and expect any degree of accuracy. And that's assuming your plant is an angiosperm.

  • The Russian sanctions episode has shown that (1) western governments don't want trade with Russia and China, and (2) western companies need components from Russia and China. If we (India) can maintain decent relations with all the parties involved, we can act as a gateway and make a lot of money.

Some people in our government are concerned that relations with China and/or the US might collapse at some point in the future. But considering the state of our economy, the unemployment rate, and so on, I think we should take the risk and do it.

  • Every word has stress.

In most Indian languages, most words are unstressed. There is a distinction between long and short syllables, but that comes from vowel length, not stress. A few words (like him-AA-la-ya) do have stress, but this is the exception and usually happens due to conjugation.

You probably mean the first phoneme is stressed.

    No, kamala is unstressed.

And the "rum" sound you're looking for is called the "schwa"

    Yes.

  • The Indian (Sanskrit) name is pronounced ka-ma-laa (meaning lotus), with no stress, and no gap in between the syllables. The first two 'a's are pronounced like the 'u' in rum, while the last is the same sound but longer (so like the 'a' in calm).

The US Presidential candidate's name is pronounced the way she likes, which in this case is closer to ko-ma-laa.

  • Each Eva is the story Anno wanted to tell at each point in his life, as he grew and became a healthier person.

Sounds like something someone who sold out would say! (/s)

Anno wanted the darkness when he was younger

I still like the OG ending. I think the 'darkness' of EoE was partially a reaction to the death threats he got, and the Rebuilds feel unnecessarily convoluted (but the animation was great). Anyway, to each their own.

  • What do you mean, needlessly confusing? The release order was genius. Opening with the movie screening showed exactly the kind of show it was. It also allowed the climax to be in the last episode of the season, while still having it happen in the middle chronologically (as Haruhi wanted).

But the second season was where KyoAni outdid themselves. It was an improvement on the first season. While the first season was great, the second was even better. Sometimes you see a series dip in quality in S2, but here it was the opposite - the quality improved. For the second season showed an uptick in the narrative. The first season had already pushed the limits of storytelling, but the second went further. While the first season was greatly enjoyable, the second was even more so. Perhaps the most ardent fans may try to quantify the quality, and say that it was, I don't know, eight times better than the first.

    • Original series (all 26 episodes)
    • End of Evangelion (optional, but recommended. This happens chronologically at the same time as Ep 25 and 26)
    • Everything else (optional, not recommended)

The OG series is the story Anno wanted to show. Some fans wanted a more concrete ending, so Anno gave them a concrete ending in EoE. Then some fans wanted a happy ending where Shinji gets the girl so Anno said fuck it, sold out, and made a series with a happy ending where Shinji gets a girl. But now some fans want a happy ending where Shinji gets the right girl so Anno gave up on them as lost causes and went and directed Shin Godzilla.
