…and where you are unhappy with Biden’s policy, look to see what Trump’s policy would be. If it’s not better, for instance the US policy on Israel/Gaza, don’t use that as a reason to not vote. Protest and let your elected officials know how you feel, vote in every election all the way down to school board levels, and try to change who is in all of the supporting roles in an administration if you are unhappy with them, but don’t abstain. Apathy is better for regressive candidates than progressive candidates.

Government is a ‘big ship’; and, it takes a long time to turn the direction it’s moving. Republicans are far better at playing the long game; and, we are reaping what they’ve been sowing since the Southern Strategy started under the Nixon administration and was the driving force under the Reagan administration.

If you don’t like what our government has become, you are working against a 40-50 year track record that put us here.

I think the phrase “or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun” will come into play.

It speaks more of intent than the ‘single trigger pull’. If your intent is to turn a semi-automatic into a functional full-automatic, this would be the phrase that makes that gun a “machinegun”.

We will have to see how it plays out in court.

They literally believe every single man, woman, and child in Gaza is part of Hamas, and therefore a terrorist.

They have no capability for empathy and can’t imagine a world in which a citizen of a foreign nation can disagree with the ruling party, despite about half the country he is part of ruling disagreeing with him.

They are also financially motivated to unconditionally back Israel because of lobbying, or corruption, whatever you prefer to call it.

They did their damnedest to kill it with terrible decision making, though…

It will eventually even out. It takes time for new business to displace old models, but it will eventually work itself out. In business, ‘no cost’ vs ‘some cost’ will always move toward ‘no cost’. In the short term, businesses that hold physical property (at least the ones that don’t need physical office space) are trying to do what they can to minimize the loss of value from falling commercial real estate values. Inflate the value, sell the asset, then let someone else take the loss.

My idea of bankrupt and his idea of bankrupt are apparently not the same thing. Spending $500k/yr does not a bankruptcy make… and he still can’t stick to his budget…

‘Woke’ is understanding the difference between the working class and the ruling class. What they want ‘woke’ to mean is anything that keeps the working class fighting amongst themselves.

Do what you want, but don’t kid yourself into thinking you’ll help the situation by exercising a vote for Trump, 3rd party, or abstaining from voting. Expect a lot worse treatment for Palestine, its citizenry, and other middle eastern countries from his opponent.

That being said, you may not have to worry about who you’ll vote for ever again if the fascists gain control… you’ll have a lot of other things to worry about, but voting won’t be one of them.

Get an EV and you’ll never have to go to a gas station again. None of the chargers I’ve seen have ads on them.

Wouldn’t be anti-environmental… it would be for all vehicles including ICE and commercial, as well.

They’ll still have to replace them more often or won’t be able to drive their vehicles or pass a state inspection to get their annual registration completed unless their car is road-worthy, thus costing them more money in tickets and remedies of said ticket.

Tire inspection is still part of vehicle registration inspections. You can’t delay more than a year, and states can always require a tire change within a certain % of being totally worn out if having tires within x-% is showing evidence of causing more accidents.

Unless the argument is that any additional cost will prevent people from performing maintenance. Like, “gas prices can’t go up because people will stop buying gas”. Or “if you make registration more complicated, people won’t register their cars”.

Taxes in the US also have a precedence of decreasing as you get into higher values. There is nothing saying taxes can’t be a higher % on low quality tires. Buy a better tire that last longer, lower percentage tax tier. The point of taxation is to deter behavior you don’t want while recouping the cost of operation over time. Cheap tires that only last 1k miles can be taxed at a much higher % than those rated at 50 or 100k miles. We do that shit all the time.
