  • We're much further ahead than them. Unlike Nazi Germany we're already the world's undisputed hegemon and all of the world's most advanced economies are aligned w us.

Even though some are starting to learn to regret it; they're still more skeptical of China or Russia than they are of us and our military presence within their borders and their dependence on our financial system ensures that they won't stray unless the bombs literally start flying and, by then, it'll be too late.

  • this ignores the roles of propaganda, misinformation, manufactured consent and lobbyists have on the american people; liberals ignoring these things are the key reasons why the genocide machine keeps going brrrrr and people who are aware of that fact (as sanders likely is) but help perpetuate it nonetheless are at least as guilty as the conservatives who dgaf.

  • zionism and providing weapons to isreal are related, but not the same thing; bernie does one of them, but the results are the same.

the first-past-the-post argument is like anti-3rd-party-voting rhetoric and is meant to re-enforce this shitty voting system and deflect blame away from the people who have forced it upon us. there have been multiple living, breathing examples that prove such rhetoric is false; mexico and sheinbaum is the most recent proof.

the democrats and the republicans are two sides of the same mainstream coin that inevitably come after vulnerable groups when things start to get bad, like they are right now. niemoller's poem warns us that leftists and trans people need to work together to protect ourselves against this mainstream and your comment about the "Glorious Revolution™" & fptp proves how effectively the american system sows disunity.

finally, we have plenty of examples of what this natural response will look like and adherence like yours to the status quo groups like the democrats is helping to usher it in.

  • advocating for them is always a good thing; my life has been heavily impacted by people like them and this is why i responded to your comment.

you're seeing for yourself how misinformation can be spread (assuming that you didn't already know) and, to drive this point home: leftists are called as such (outside the west) because they adhere to writings of people from the past that have analyzed, studied, and trial/errored on their strategies. the term leftists is co-opted heavily in the west and especially so in the united states; so when you encounter an "overzealous leftist" know that they're not ascribing that any of those texts because those texts advocate for that same grace that you're wondering if you should afford to them.

i think of them as left-maga since they know as much about leftism as trump's maga does about politics or history.

  • the actual left leaning people of this country are reliable voters and the vote counts prove it since their numbers are as consistent as republican voters.

what you're likely counting as "left leaning" are centrists by the world's standards (aka democrats) and, by definition, don't have strong enough feelings to vote either way; hence the political fervor that's so weak that they don't even show up at the polls.

  • I truly do not understand the hostility here...

people are pissed off at our system and redirecting it at each other is the defining characteristic of the culture wars.

that anger would be better placed at the system; but we're too ignorant of it know how to use that anger effectively and willfully refuse to learn it.

  • the yougov polls shows that your fellow democrats didn't vote because they didn't want to be complicit in a genocide that the democrats openly enabled; not because they wanted to punish the democrats and this is going to happen again and again because even the likes of bernie sanders are a zionists.

that poverty you're living through comes as the hands of democrats and republicans alike. sure, it's slower with the democrats, but you're still going to live with it nonethless.

and there will be no glorious revolution; just a natural decay of the system we're in and a natural response from the people like us once things get bad enough, while we watch people in other places have it much better.

  • articles like this one suggest that the brain drain is an intentional cultural purge:

This is the vision: take NIH scientists, coders, artists, researchers, and teachers and force them into low-wage jobs doing whatever robots can’t yet do. Not because it’s efficient. Not because the work isn’t valuable. But because they are who the far right considers dangerous—people who know how the system works—and might challenge it.

None of this is about restoring dignity to labor. It’s about stripping dignity from labor that offers autonomy, safety, or intellectual freedom. It’s about reducing workers of all kinds—whether white-collar, blue-collar, or no-collar—to servitude.

  • same thing with americans and our government: too many of us derided people who gave this genocide the gravity it deserves during the election, as little more than a single issue voter; minimizing a genocide to some kind of policy or law that has little to no impact on the world's stage.
