I think the party splitting back into its Progressive Conservative and Reform components is long overdue. PCs might've held their noses and agreed to a merge for the sake of defeating the Liberals, but since then they've sat passively allowing the extreme regressives to take the reins.

A reasonable person might assume PP losing his riding might be a sign that people think a demagogue mini-Trump who blames everything he dislikes on "wokeness" is a very unserious person who isn't fit to lead a party, but the Conservative Party seems to be very lacking in reasonable people...

I've got friends who are like "I wouldn't even consider an electric car until they have 1000 miles of range and can charge in fifteen minutes," like bruh, you make two road trips a year and have four kids; even if we pretend you weren't a two car family that takes the minivan anyway when you're traveling, there's no way your kids are making it a quarter of the range you "need" without stopping.

No matter how ridiculous a parody someone attempts to create of the grip being mocked, there are members of that group who unironically believes crazier things.

Think I read some study several years back (probably following the Trump-Clinton one) that concluded almost everyone always perceives their "team's" candidate as having won the debate, and the number of voters swayed by a stellar performance from another candidate is negligible.
