  • Aww man it’s actually a bummer to hear so many people are disliking the game. This has been the first game in a while where I’ve gotten hooked. I love the RPG elements in the game and the story has been brilliant. I’ve enjoyed games recently like Ragnarok and Control but this is the first one where I’m excited to just get back and sucked into the world. The last Bethesda game I played was actually Fallout 3 over a decade ago. It makes sense as Mass Effect is my favorite franchise and this feels like an evolution of that. My perfect game would probably be Starfield with ME: Andromeda combat.

  • And honestly my biggest thing is pricing. I currently have GamePass so been grinding through a ton of games there. But I’ve been buying so many games on sale that are so much more expensive on the Switch for whatever reason.

  • Started Starfield of course and have been really enjoying it. I love the RPG elements already and it’s been a long time since I really catered a character to my liking rather than just taking the default. It’s giving me the same awe I had when I first played Mass Effect over 15 years ago (though I’m not sure if anything can beat that experience especially when you go to the Citadel). Action is fun and I like the three different POVs you can pick. Only complaint is the HDR seems a bit off where things look a bit greyish especially in the opening period.

Outside of Starfield, I’ve been playing Limbo again seeing it on GamePass. Never finished it when I was playing it on Android so finally going to give a chance to it now.

  • Not controversial at all. That trailer was brilliant and it was also right before Dark Knight (or was it DKR) which got me even more excited after experiencing it.

Mind you I still enjoyed the movie (though way more after watching the directors cut).

  • For me it has to be all the trailers for the first Suicide Squad. So well executed and somehow stole the show away from the equally as promising Batman Vs Superman. That Comic Con was probably the most optimistic DC's future looked in the past decade.

My fun little canon is that the actual movie doesn't exist and the trailers are a very stylized prologue to James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. It gives backstory to some of the main characters (Flagg, Harley, Waller) and their motivations while also teasing characters who may or may not show up in potential sequels

  • Lol Anthem has a 61 Critic Average with 13% Recommend and Starfield has an 88. Average with 94% Recommend…

That’s a very positive reaction to a game so I don’t know what kind of narrative you’re trying to build.

  • Never did I think I would see the day where a game gets majority positive sentiments but it’s the mainstream editorials that has the controversial lower scoring reviews. Will be interesting as we see more and more that it’s not the company but the reviewer matters more. Makes sense as a corporation doesn’t decide whether you like a game but if you know a reviewers taste, you can tell whether a game is good or not knowing their previous biases.

  • Oh not a fan of the JarJar one but the life force one is really intriguing. Would’ve been nice to show more hints of that in media such as Rebels, Kenobi, or the comics. Vader slowly forming doubt would also help with his decision to betray him in Jedi.
