  • I had similar issues with Siri in CarPlay until I reset my phone. All good now.

  • Shiny stickers are the best 😎

  • I LOVE sending unknown callers to voicemail that then types out the message. I get so many spam calls.

  • It’ll get rid of bots…. And most other users

  • It certainly seems that development fell off a cliff.

Maybe there is a rewrite and it’s being worked in in private but… signs of life are not really there.

    I’ve been using Avelon lately.

  • iPhone 12 here… hope to also be using it 2 years hence

  • Moved on to keeping Totp codes in a keepass database with KeePassium on iOS.

  • I agree, I actually use Silverblue as well. The only thing I added was a script to auto update distrobox too.

  • Use pihole. If I accidentally click a google ad they don’t work anyway.

  • Removing heat energy is what your freezer does, by transferring it outside of the freezer box.

You can’t just remove heat by adding electromagnetic energy. Absorbing energy from the electromagnetic radiation makes heat.

    Edit: whelp, TIL

  • Silverblue is my daily driver. Everything is in flatpaks, which update automatically, or in distrobox which I have a bash script that updates automatically.

System updates download in the background and just boot automatically the next time you boot up. I just ignore them.

  • Fedora is nicest when you use a lot of flatpaks imo. They just update constantly in the background without reboot.

    Only system updates need reboot.

  • So you want something like Nano.

Vim is great for more complicated documents and programming because the modes allow you to fly around the document much faster. It’s not very useful unless you put the time into learning how to use it… and it’s not worth it for simple things imo.

I use it to write work reports. It’s much faster for many things: one example I type dap and bam a whole paragraph is deleted, d5w and the next 5 words are deleted. I use snippets to compete reports like fill in the blanks (I have hundreds of snippets, I hit rpt then tab and a whole report skeleton is generated). Annoying long patient name? I hit CTRL-N and it fills out the name with only a few characters.

Vim is actually just amazing for this kind of stuff.

  • You should use vim for very different reasons than nano or micro.

  • I just use winget to update Libreoffice since it’s already there in windows 10/11.

“Winget update LibreOffice” in a power shell terminal.

    Updating it manually sucks.

  • Agreed the colors really suck

  • I’m sure malicious actors will put it through its paces

  • I use it on windows daily for work reports. No crashes. Maybe depends on what features you’re using.

On Linux I’ve found that the flatpak is more reliable than other delivery formats for whatever reason.
