It won't save him much, that's for sure. Florida's homestead exemption knocks $25k off the assessed value (and no school taxes on the next $25k, or something like that). For me it's a lot of money. For Mar-a-Lago it's a rounding error.

I thought it was illegal to sue the sitting president. Wasn't that the case four years ago?

Does anyone believe for a second that, were positions reversed, the GOP would vote to preserve Pelosi's speakership? Anyone who argues that point is a liar or an idiot. It's only reasonable for the democrats to fire the pistol that Gaetz loaded and handed to them.

Florida resident here: The Save Our Homes amendment prevents property tax from increasing more than 3% per year for homesteaded properties (and I'm sure Trump filed for that tax break as soon as he qualified for it). Trump might be shielded from paying taxes on the full claimed value, but only on the part that he calls home.

They protect him because he's a republican. Any democrat would be skewered relentlessly by the right for the same accusations as Santos but so long as he votes with the GOP they will hold their fire.

Organizationally the GOP has a lot of respect for an established and convincing liar.

As weird as it is, I think the democrats should save McCarthy. He's a wretched asshole but the GOP isn't going to replace him with anyone better. It also looks like he'll ultimately take action when dire consequences are on the line. And let's face it; the moonbats on the far right want him gone so they can elect Trump to the post.

in my area (I'm in FL), the home addresses of judges, police, and other public officials are withheld from the public. They're even unlabeled in our property tax database. It's likely that the MLS has been forced to comply. But what is unavailable from the government is certainly known by Amazon, UPS/FedEx/etc, pizza chains, etc.
