It's the other way around. Low places are higher income in favelas and barrios because they're closer to public transportation, formal services, commerces and salaried jobs. The higher you are in a favela the poorer you are and the worse are the living conditions. For the lack of vehicular access and the chaotic nature of improvised construction means government institutions have a harder time reaching people there. So there's no service support, fewer commerce, lack of legal protection and you're so far away from the formal city that job opportunities are meager.

That's because of active directory. It makes managing hundreds of users, across as many devices, in a centralized manner, easier. You make a user for the person with the intended access scheme, hand them a random laptop imaged from a master system OS, and off they go with access to all the software and tools tied to their user login. There's no similar alternative with a robust support service for Linux clients. If there were, then changing a culture to Linux clients wouldn't have so much friction.

100% the individual conditions make us different but the challenges and obstacles to everyday life that some different people may face originate on the social environment they exist in, not on the individual. If the society and environment change to accommodate for greater diversity then the person can more easily overcome the disability.

Note on the term canceling. Independent creators cannot, by definition, get canceled. Unless you literally are under a production or publishing contract that gets actually canceled due to something you said or did, you were not canceled. Being unpopular is not getting canceled, neither is receiving public outrage due to being bad or unpopular. Even in a figurative sense, just the fact that the videos were published to YouTube and can still be viewed means they were not canceled. They just fell out of the zeitgeist and aren't popular anymore, that happens to 99% of entertainment content.

AI is just what we call automation until marketing figures out a new way to sell the tech. LLMs are generative AI, hardly useful or valuable, but new and shiny and has a party trick that tickles the human brain in a way that makes people give their money to others. Machine learning and other forms of AI have been around for longer and most have value generating applications but aren't as fun to demonstrate so they never got the traction LLMs have gathered.

Just remember that they didn't certify macOS for any practical reason, Apple was just weaseling out of a lawsuit and figured that paying the certification was cheaper than damages. I think they lost the certification some time later. Newer macOS is not Unix certified.

Running LLMs is not a feature that 99% of users need or want. Look at all the AI laptops flopping in sales. People don't care about RAM soldered to the motherboard to squeeze a milisencond on a feature they don't use. It's a money grubbing strategy, plain and simple.

This one is so important. After a year my mastodon feed is perfectly tailored for me. When I open it I enjoy my time there and the posts I see. I can leave whenever I want, and without a feel of rage or anxiety. But the most important part is that I don't feel the compulsive need to open it every other second. It's to liberating in contrast with the algorithm led manipulation.

I think it is sort of like the CIA, just because they have power it out rules any need for reason. They just obliviate everyone indiscriminately.

This is always so unfair to XFCE. Sure it is low impact on resources but it is also very flexible and customizable. Most people sleep on how good it can be outside of the low resources need.
