  • I keep going to the site out of habit but I rarely even click anything any more.

  • Also I feel for regulations like this its better to do too much and then make exceptions for the small guy afterwards.

  • I feel like this is a little overcompensation to the problem but it's better to start that way. The professional Airbnb landlord with multiple properties needs to be shut down but I feel like the more casual user should be allowed. If it's half of a duplex seems fine but multiple properties not so much. They take up so much housing.

I have done Airbnb for a long time and it's definitely getting worse but it's better in Europe than the US. I'm sure the regulations are a part of this

  • Make pickles. It's easy to make refrigerator pickles you just need some vinegar and spices. It works the best if their pickling cucumbers but the regular ones work alright. The flavor is the but the texture is a little off

  • Beautiful sentiment. I love being able to feed natives in my yard. I do draw the line at squirrels and my pumpkins. They get enough food elsewhere

  • All of the native plant literature show that there are a few species that can support many insect species. These few species can greatly increase the number. For most butterflies and moths only a single genus can support their caterpillars but these caterpillars bring many others who eat them. Only a few species can bring lots of diversity if you choose wisely. But ferns aren't generally big diversity drivers

  • The method I liked the best was baked with nuts and dried fruit like a trail mix. It was great in that since the texture worked great with nuts

  • Exactly. Everything is processed in these foods so who cares about the source

  • I know there at least one R&D project looking into it. Just got to get the supply chain and people to buy in.

  • I've had a few different insect based portions of meals and they are great. If food scientists get to spend as much time in insects as they have had when traditional meats they will blow up as a protein source.

I always say that if McDonalds could make an insect based burger I would eat it in a heart beat

  • Its really a privilege to be picky about where to work. Many people don't have that luxury but its worthwhile for everyone for those who can to continue to do so. It forces companies to step up their game to retain and attract high value employees. I did the same thing when searching for jobs with a large emphasis to avoid health insurance which has tons of jobs but are low pay, bad benefits and pretty evil

  • When I do have a meatless day it’s usually better served by having actual meatless(or vastly reduced) cuisine and not fake meat

I agree with statement exactly. I will always choose a vegetable based meal that is its own thing instead of something similar to meat. I want it to emphasize the vegetables or grains instead of hiding it. Most of these have generations of people creating these traditional vegetarian or vegan dishes which are great instead of a cheap knock off.

I feel lab grown meat will attack traditional meat consumption much more. Same with actually ethically and sustainable meat creation.

  • Even better. Don't click on Twitter and don't engage with trolls in any format.

  • Always remember to never feed the trolls. It's a very basic Internet rule that we should have continued to follow. Block and move on

  • Exactly. You're supporting your family is everyway

  • After thinking about this I think a lot of the traditional masculine values can be positive if defined the correct way. I'm sure any traditionally conservative men would say that Self Sufficiency is a valuable trait. But defining it as being able to cook, clean, change a diaper, etc it would be a more positive. Same with as a defender but define it as protecting minorities and those less fortunate instead of being able to kill a threat. These should be done and used

  • I agree. I think there should be a better definition. I would suggest up Terry Crews as my definition of positive male role model.

  • I don't think so since lemmy doesn't integrate with mastodon like kbin
