That's probably what happened. Though I do like starting with the larger context when talking about dates, but omitting it when talking about the current month or year.
There is a huge range of equity implementations in the US. My company, for example, has not done any "means testing" when recruiting for racial equity. Nor when it donates to blanket racial programs. There was no means testing when internships were offered to high school students of particular demographics.
We have need based programs to address people who need help. Why not bolster to those? Why focus on shifting resources/programs away from the poor to people who objectively don't need it as much? We know how much people need, we can measure income.
How much money/time/reaources are going into programs, grants, scholarships that target single demographics?
That's not how equity works in practice. It doesn't examine anyone's actual capabilities or disadvantages. They bucket large groups of people into categories they deem worthy to receive resources, despite their actual need. Every person has their individual story, challenges, and priveleges yet equity assumes otherwise, that you deserve compensation based on the group you were assigned to, not what you actually need.
My ex has one. She used it half folded to prop it up to take pictures. That's come in handy quite a bit actually. Also I like that you can close the phone to hang up calls. Sometimes I have to navigate back to the call app to hang up and it just feels ridiculous how hanging up is a multi step process if the call app isn't open. Lastly, pocket space, I prefer the folded phone than a full sized.
I likely won't get one for the same reason as you.
When your definition of feminism is "gender equality", you're right, there's no such thing as an extreme. When you take the equity stance and start treating people as groups and funding/defunding one group or the other you are building up new systems of discrimination instead of breaking them down.
As someone who watched it high, too many drastic vibe changes. From a fun laughably corny movie, to this serious 10 minute diatribe about every possible challenge a woman could potentially face in her life really killed the mood. Many of the scenes with the mother/daughter really detracted from the film honestly.
Awesome, thanks for the suggestions! Unravel (2) was one of the first games we played together, it was the the perfect game to introduce her to because asymmetrical skill doesn't hurt the game at all, actually it even helps.
I agree with you on the limited local co-op games out there. I feel like I've played them all. Online co-op will be an option when I fix my PC, but the couch experience is hard to beat.
Recently I finished it takes two with my daughter, looking for new couch coops to play with her. For my own gaming time, getting bored of Diablo IV, Dave the diver was fun for a while but I'm ready for something else, maybe will get back into valheim.
You didn't say comrade, or bourgeois. You said techbro ghouls and elite bougie prick. Then proceeded to slander me as a bootlicker despite me agreeing with your point.
I don't think so, not as a temporary measure. We are talking about a country being invaded, imaginr your friends, family, and fellow countrymen being murdered, displaced, and their rights and freedom stripped from them.
And you think it's wrong to stop honoring the invaders culture while the invasion is actively in progress?
I wasn't sure what handheld PC alternatives to steam deck were out and I just assumed they were low tier cheap versions. Wow was I wrong, those look nice, but get pricey. The specs look really good on that one you mentioned, the Ayaneo geek 1s.
As a steam deck owner I'm very happy with it, I've only used it in hand held mode. I just got the dock for it, I am a little concerned I'll notice any performance issues more when hooked up to a large screen. I would love some time to try these alternatives out.
Privacy.com is really good for online payments that don't accept apple/Google pay. It creates a virtual credit card that's locked to that particular vendor so even if the vendor has a data beach hackers can't use the card.
Uhh, some of us would not like to see a cooperation profit off of our contributions. This is a perfectly fine place to discuss our exit strategy of a service we have contributed content for for years.
Most people are brand new to Lemmy and this will be the case for a long time. It's inevitable for information to be repeated for a while.
