  • The US was ~90% Christian until recently. Same with our elected officials, bad things happen from time to time and stupid laws, but the rate of attrocious incidents like this are far less. You could argue it's cultural, not based in religious text, but tell that to apostates that fear for their lives.

  • Not getting caught is cheaper than an Uber. Nobody expects to get caught, that's why they do it.

Even if you think ride shares are cheap, they aren't cheap enough. We need public transit level cheap, but has to feel safe for everyone, at night. This is one of the better use cases for self driving cars.

  • Prevention of tribes is the best benefit imo. I remember on school there were a number of ethnic/cultural groups that didn't socialize with people out of their group. I don't believe that fosters a healthy community, and behaviors or symbolic garments to identify you as a member of a group reinforce those group identities instead of all being human beings.

  • The thought process of people who down vote you are the reason black people aren't catching up as quickly as we like, they don't even try to find the root cause that plagues black families today, they just wave their hands in the air and use their magic word racism.

  • Natural vision is awesome, it works for billions of humans. We just have nothing close to what the human eyes and brain offers in terms of tech in that spectrum.

I think it needs to be a combination of sensors since radar sucks in the rain/snow/fog.

  • Whatsapp is just a text service that gained popularity because it bypassed expensive text messaging rates, and it's superior to SMS in most ways anyways. If meta starts charging people will go somewhere else. It's odd to hear this take that people are somehow dependant on it. It's more replaceable than a pair of shoes.

  • Chiming in from Seattle, we just built light rail up here and it's just awful how slow they made it. It has its own track... It's insane that it's slower than driving in traffic. But they wanted to serve every neighborhood possible instead of realizing trains are not a last mile solution unless you build cities specifically around it.

  • You mean Ff7 remake? I was pumped originally but they took so long to bring it to PC.

I feel the same about D4, the grind isnt satisfying. I stopped around level 72. Maybe there's content I'm missing out on but I'd rather play d2 or path of exile right now.
