github, it seems to be the only with with a code search worth anything.

but it also has really nice discoverability for applications. I have found so many cool applications on GitHub using their topics system and language filtering.

I haven't been able to find any replication at all with any of the other stuff. so even if you do use another repo, please mirror on GitHub. Even if only so people can find it and search the code.

Love his content, he is quite entertaining, even when just doing a cooking video, has some good takes and some bad takes but who doesnt at this point.

I dont need nor want an LSP, the collaboration features or any of that. just nice and simple, for all that other stuff i have the full de like lapce or vscode

I prefer open source in general

I've been looking for a long time for a good alternative to sublime text.

however it's not really a text editor, it's more like a full IDE at this point, I really like lapce, it does have some bugs, but it's really lightweight and fast, and I like the UI a lot

I use a program called pixel filter to make my screen less bright, it overlays a black grid, with LCDs this brings the brightness down. however with ovalids it actually straight up turns off the pixels (so it saves some battery too)

I have sometimes have to use my phone in very dim environments. so using this helps me a lot.

Thankfully with a lot of stuff like banking apps, a lot of applications actually provide a pretty decent mobile webui. so a browser with the right user agent will still work (albiet to a limited degree, don't expect nfc payments any time soon)

sounds like a lot of work when you could just install arch or nobara and be done with it

that is a terrible UX lol, the main youtube app for TV is absolute dogwater, it's slow and it even crashes fairly often. im not going to swap apps for this. browser is even worse

I really like the app, but I wish it would let me load ads on creators I wanna support, I realize it's worth less then peanuts, but if it could allow only 30s ads or less that would be perfect for me

those are media formats, not containers.

aac lc and he-aac are both free now hev2 and xhe aren't, but those have more limited use

matroska for media, we already have MKA for audio and MKV for video. An image container would be good too.

mp4 is more prone to data loss and slower to parse, while also being less flexible, despite this it seems to be a sort of pseudo standard.

(MP4, M4A, HEIF formats like heic, avif)

its worth noting that aac is actually pretty good in a lot of cases too

traditional linux distros, sorry thought the implication was obvious.

but the user experience really is different, its been great since my family and old customer base love it and need a lot less help with it
