  • I wish that was the case here. I can’t find an 8000 series below $200. Most in the $100 range is 4000-6100 series with 6500 being $120+.

    Kinda leaning towards an N100 even though it’s a bit more ($250ish)

  • OSMAnd is great. Been using the free version for a long time. Only reason I keep Waze on my phone is to get live traffic, if I know I’ll run in to rush hour / traffic.

    Wish an OSM app would get great live traffic.

  • Yeah I was gonna aim for an i5 with 8-16GB ram. Seems like a 7500 or at least a 7th gen is what I should look for.

  • But then you also spend much more than $100 😂 I already have a NAS with a a 7th gen i7, 16gb ram, 32TB hdh, and a 1070 for decoding but it uses too much power to stay on all the time. I only turn it on to watch plex and then power it down to save electricity.

  • I’ve looked at that but idk if 650kr for 8gb ram version is worth it if the CPU is ‘only’ a 6100.

    I’ve had a DBA Agent going for some weeks but most things are 6th gen or lower or overpriced 8th gen.

  • Yes! Absolutely love his books. Currently on The Source (taking a break half way through) but “Space” is on my to-read list. So far I’ve read Hawaii, Caravans, Centennial and The Covenant.

    My favorite is Hawaii but I really liked Caravans too. Was a big fan of The Covenant.

  • I actually gave up on mosquitto and mqtt for owntracks. Been running it with https (behind traefik) for about 4 years now and it’s been solid. Not sure why you want to switch to mosquitto.

  • This is one of the first models I printed back on the original wooden makerbot replicator. Been going strong for almost 10 years on my desk and used it with all my phones. Printed in ABS back then.
