My fresh Debian install didn't have that too and I thought it came with the installation

Backups before doing anything else with partitions (or OS in general)

I'm not sure why you are being downvoted but I agree with you. Helping them set up the first time makes their transition to Linux smoother. I just had someone's laptop prepared with the steps you outlined in your previous comment and left them on how to install flatpak apps. They said they want to learn more beyond flatpak and genuinely interested how to learn to install the distro themselves.

I ditched Windows because I could not stand them restarting my PC without my permission after an update. And ads! Fucking ads on my start menu.

I'm on 5 instances, primarily for redundancy just in case an instance experiences hiccups I could login to another.
