Honnest answer, 1/2 in DEC is 0.5 easy. 1/2 in base 13 is .6666666666.... Easy but ugly. You want a base that has comon fractions easily represented by decimals. People like dozenal since many fractions are easily represented. 1/2 = 0.6, 1/3 = 0.4, 1/4 = 0.3
I'm personally a fan of hexidecimal partly because I'm a programmer and partially because it can be halved several times
Well, no, not really. Back during the 2016 election don poorleon did a photoshoot with a bald eagle and the bird attacked him. I still love the pure symbolism there, the symbol of American democracy considered him a threat.
I remember a story awhile back where a French researcher or something wrote a whole paper in french, except one page was in english. Well the Quebequois fuzz apparently thought they couldn't speak french well enough.
Seriously, I don't understand tgat person's point. Before elon the check ment "yes this really is Billy West, voice actor for a lot of things". It wasn't a hard concept.
Yeah good plan, I'll drive or take a plane across the ocean for my next vacation. Not every trip can be taken by land and many that can are extremely long and or slow.
Okay, heres the thing. You're stuck in a giant tube in the sky for hours. I get people will be bored from lack of anything to do. Hell this post isn't even about that. Its about how we keep clinging to old standards that made sense at the time that are honestly just kinda dumb now.
Frequently repos say "git clone [repo url]" which i think is enough for most people to copy and paste. I'm a programmer and usually I just click things in my IDE to do git work for me so I'll agree its not an easy thing to use.
Well, fuck we should have known that this requires a masters in computering. Dude these comands are easy, literally copy and paste. The instructions are literally handholding you to run it and thats still to complicated. Also who makes furry porn with a Large Language Model?
Yeah so, we have a way of making chat bots that have safe gaurds to not sell overly discounted tickets or whatever. Its the normal dumb chatbots we've used for years. They aren't smart, they can't tell you a story, they can't pull random law out of their ass. No its the ones with a handful of canned responses with a handful of questions it can answer because that's all it's programmed to do. Using an LLM for this is not only overkill but fucking stupid. LLM's are only able to say what they think is the next thing in a conversation. If you ask it for a discount it'll probably say "sure here's 15% off" then not actually apply it.
Yeah, its not like we could store that energy in say a battery and then use it another time when demand is higher for actually useful things instead of jerking off techbros/cryptobros.
Dude. It's 2.3% of a massive industrialized nation where most citizens have access to some luxury goods. A nation with nearly 350 million people being the 3rd most populous country.
It does NOT fucking matter if it's """"""waste"""""" energy. And no, we don't fucking make that arguement about things like ac because you know why? Someone is getting comfort out of it instead of burning seals to make a line go up.
