Nothing is guaranteed before the election.

And since Jan6th is how Trump left the last election, nothing is guaranteed even if the election wins. But an election victory in massive numbers would be our best bet moving forward. It cannot be close, Trump must be soundly defeated for the country to move forward effectively.

In any case: the big advantage of Betamax (and VHS) was how easy it was to get home-recordings done. An entire generation of family photos / family events (birthday parties, etc. etc.) are on Betamax and likely lost.

Consider the entire generation of 1970s and 1980s Betamax footage that is basically lost today.

When format wars snap to one side: VHS vs Betamax, HD-DVD vs BluRay, Flash vs HTML5, QuickTime vs DivX... The losing side basically loses a ton of footage.

For the most part, we know how to play Flash right now and mostly how to upconvert it or otherwise archive it. That's not true of all formats.

A large number of Republicans are pissed at Trump but are begrudgingly going to vote for him.

Which there is a degree of bullshit here no doubt. But at least some of them have to be telling the truth about their feelings.

The good news is that the 'But...' is 'But Hunter Bidens Laptop's, or 'But Hilary Clintons Emails'.

Very few are actually admitting to 'But DEI hire' or other Kamala attacks. Honestly, the Trump Campaigns insults are completely flat vs Kamala. Even amongst Republicans in my experience.

The thing about Republicans is that we are open about bluster vs closed door politics. You can't necessarily pay attention to what people bluster openly.

Foil here. Tall people suck to fight against. Skilled tall people were straight up impossible.

And I at least have right-of-way to deal with tall people. Eepee don't got that, its all stupid hand-jabs or foot-jabs (as far as I can tell as a Foil-ist, lol).

I live in an entirely Democrat-run state. There's no Republican for me to write anything for.

When you live in Democrat-only land, it becomes easier to see the flaws and why a 2nd option is important.

Democrat Governor, 2x Democrat Senators, Democrat Representative, Democrat Mayor, Democrat Board of Education, Democrats on the judiciary, etc. etc.

I never voted Trump. Even in 2016 I saw he was shitty. But McCain was a reasonable option vs Obama and the Ukrainian War proves Obama's folly in foreign policy and inexperience. McCain in 2012 could have prevented a lot of problems.

No. It's that shorter fencers must doge quicker to compete.

In my days in College, as a 5'9" average guy, I wasn't much faster than anyone else. And without any reach I couldn't keep up vs the taller people either.

Just being shorter doesn't make you faster.

And a tall guy is usually bigger than a short one, so he’s a bigger target - and then there’s his juicy belly right on a convenient line of shots for a short fencer.

Just gain some flexibility and squat down deeper. The good tall fencers could hit me in my belly consistently despite me being shorter.

And while squatting down, your tall legs are longer anyway so you can lunge deeper when you do this maneuver. We shorter fencers cannot.

Here's the gist of what needs to be said

Trump is not only bad for the country, he's bad for the Republican party and Conservatism as well. Trump has kicked out nearly every sane Republican and continues to attack anyone who even barely stands up to him.

Worse, Trumps attacks and mood is random. He's an angry demented old man who backstabs any movement the moment it seems politically advantageous to do so. Be it Right or Left, Trumps overwhelming plan is this chaos.

We cannot even vote for a Speaker, write up a Platform or attract good candidates like Jon Huntsman anymore. We are 10+ years unable to pick a Speaker of the House or support them. Is this really the party of the future?

The sooner Trump is defeated, the sooner we can rebuild the party and start doing good for America again.

We cannot remain the party of Fiscal Responsibility through massive Tax Cuts anymore. We need a real plan, a real political identity and not one that immediately contradicts itself outside of Trumps cult of personality.

Photos are easily mirrored but Trump's hairstyle is reliably Trump's right to Trump's left. So this alleged photograph is definitely of Trump's right ear.

With the AP seeming to withdraw this photograph, there's some controversy at play here. But AP is a well respected news brand. Surely they'd write about a story if they found something here.

Yes, but the difference is that when showing said irrefutable evidence in a group setting, the neutral parties who are listening into the discussion can see who is a dumbass.

Its not about convincing the Trump supporter. In many cases, its about convincing the low-information undecided voters who are sitting around or just casually listening in.

We aren't there quite yet. I'd like to see more evidence than just one picture that's been seemingly withdrawn by the AP. If Trump's ear truly is healed up by now, we'll get more pictures soon.

Something hit Trump's ear. Its so weird that the Trump team thought it'd be best to pretend it was a bullet this whole time, surely they would have seen the wound and would have known?

Any doctor who saw the ear afterwards would have been able to say Bullet vs Glass vs whatever based on what they saw. If this whole "bullet to the ear" thing ends up being a massive lie created by Trump's team, that speaks poorly of this upcomming election. Especially if it becomes representative of Trump's lying and how much he makes his followers look like a fool.

If it ends up to be a true bullet-to-the-ear scenario, then whatever. Kamala looks like she was on her way to gaining momentum for the near future anyway and she has much better chances than I ever expected. (She's not winning in the polls yet, but her energy is palpable. I can believe that she can turn this around between now and November, even without relying upon this weird ear thing going on...)

All the Trump supporters I know call themselves "Moderates" and are "only asking questions".

They're already too embarrassed to call themselves Republican.

Trump's hair is always parted the same direction, from Trump's right to Trump's left.

Trump has an asymmetrical hair-style, making it 100% sure that this is a picture of the correct ear.

Oh no. This matters to his base because we can embarrass them with this picture moving forward.

They truly believe that Trump was hit by the bullet, and is missing a piece of his ear because of it.

Trump's Doctor said a bunch of things.

I 100% believe that those articles existed (largely echoing Trump's doctor), even if I didn't see them personally. Different segments of the press assign different amounts of reliability to different political figures. It seems like the Democrats / Leftist print is to the advantage here compared to the Right who published the articles about the exaggerated claims of Trump's Doctor.

FBI Chief Wray was very careful saying that "Bullet or Shrapnel that Hit Trump's Ear", leaving things ambiguous. It set off some discussion online last week, with people wondering why he didn't just say "The bullet that hit Trump's Ear".

I guess FBI Chief knew something was up already and was already hedging his bets. Well, I'd expect intelligence to... well... know things before everyone else.

Obviously Trump was bleeding from his ear. Something absolutely hit it. But if its healed this well by now, it probably wasn't an AR-15 round.

Very interesting. I don't think Trump can just leave that thing bandaged up for the next few months, everyone knows he's gotta take the bandage off permanently eventually. The truth will come out.

We don't need to target the zealots.

All that matters is changing the mind of the 10% or so independents. And secondly, making sure there is enough enthusiasm for the Democrats to actually come out and fucking vote.
