  • Yeah, and some of the cartels have also been run by ex US special forces operators.

These groups are not just some homegrown militias - although it's also important to recognize that they are not altogether opposed to supporting local communities when they aren't at war with the government (e.g., during covid).

It's not a simple situation, and there's no simple domestic solution. Thinking Mexico can gun them down is irrational, or naive at best.

  • he still is using a padded stick.

Then grab a gun and go show them how it's done!

  • Apparently you've missed out on some wild combat footage since he was elected... I think you have a little catching up to do.

Like, are you aware that the cartels have weapons only issued to US military service members? Or that Mexico won a US lawsuit against US gun manufacturers for facilitating weapon smuggling?

This is why you don't want neoliberals for neighbors.

  • I was being sarcastic right until the final period mark.

I would never say those phrases in any sort of seriousness, and I do not recommend that you support any type of MTX.

However I'm honoured that you recognize my mocking as an actual personality type that we all have to deal with. I thought maybe I had laid it on a bit too thick.

  • Admittedly, most of the “Mostly Negative” Steam reviews seem to be reacting to the fact they exist at all, without considering whether they’re actually critical to your progress in the game or not (for clarity, they are not).

You can walk from the start of the game at the beginning of the hallway, to the end of the game at the end of the hallway, entirely unobstructed by MTX!

The fact that the two-dozen doors on either side of the hallway, containing entire worlds of content, are locked has no negative impact on your ability to enjoy the game that was never marketed as a hallway simulator.

Sure, it's not perfect, but you don't have to focus on little details like a drama queen. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

  • Industry-reported numbers should never be used for planning and decisions. Governments should only take numbers from independent studies like this seriously.

Consider what other industries similar deceptions are likely occurring in.

Will we even really start fighting before we lose the war to save our planet? (rhetorical)

  • Honestly, it's nice to see that they included cash.

Good luck enforcing it, of course, but the traditional banking system is where the vast majority of all financial crimes occur. Which is partially what drives working class people toward alternative currencies. You want to clean up crypto? Clean up your own house first.

It's no different than in business. You have to earn buy-in from your stakeholders. Commoners fleeing to crypto is indicative that governments haven't earned that buy-in, and we all know why: People believe their governments serve the rich and powerful.

Meanwhile the rich will have minimal issue laundering their money regardless of which tech is used, they'll just experience different delays and transaction fees depending on the method.

  • The controlled opposition art of slow-rolling performative dissent. People fall for it every single time.
