I like to pick out my own produce, shop markdown items and sales, and I like getting out of the house. My regular store has a bar too. I never drink there, but there is usually some eye candy around. And for those who want to shop from their PC or phone, Kroger delivery is quicker where I'm at.
There are some documented communications from Dems doing this. Of course Trump is doing it ten times as hard. Precedents matter, and this has been going on on a smaller scale since way before Biden. Probably back to Reagan or much earlier. Before social media it was controlling the major news outlets, although back then there were still a few independent journalists. Now independents get deplatformed.
They just keep getting more and more emboldened. They're determined to control the narrative, and by they, really I mean oligarchs.
As much as many don't like it, it's textbook trespassing. It was private property, if they ask you to leave and you don't you can get arrested. And cops love to pile on with obstruction and resisting arrest charges. I'm an advocate of protest and speech but if you want to plan to not be arrested, you have to be on the public easement or some other established public property/forum. I think here they were planning to be arrested, and I respect that.
It's not like the working class can move. My daughter and her UK boyfriend/fiance want to get married but neither would be able to legally work in the other country. If you can't get a work visa for a technical specialized job, you're SOL or you try to find under the table work which is becoming more impossible with governments tracking everything.
Neither my wife or I have been able to afford to go to the dentist in over 20 years. I've had a general medical checkup once in that time. We make too much to get free care but not enough to afford care. It absolutely kills me because I work for a nonprofit that provides food and other resources to people in need. They're always talking about their doctors appointments, procedures etc and I'm like, yeah I don't get that kind of thing.
Even in a hammock I use a very small camping pillow - the Snoozy from Wise Owl - but I sleep on my side, I can't fall asleep on my back. When I first tried hammock camping I was up almost 72 hrs straight trying to fall asleep on my back. But I just curl up my legs and sleep like a baby now.
Left authoritarianism is a scourge just as much as fascism, but I'm an anti-authoritarian centrist. Yes it is normal to fear authoritarians. The proletariat must not be disarmed.
I agree, Republicans and Democrats keep taking turns swinging their axe at the tree every four to eight years. The tree hasn't fallen over yet, but it was dead a long time ago.
For a decent runner it's five or six. I can walk 13-14 minute miles all day long. Except I slow down on steep mountain inclines.
