  • Why does America look like poor Poland villages

Can't say I know what that looks like, but the US is a big place. There's a lot of different looks to it.

But even poor Poland Villages have electric kettles.

We do have them. You can get one at nearly any big box store. They're cheap too. Most Americans still don't own one because we have no particular need.

  • 9mm is iffy, but a lot of handguns in the US are .45 which would do a number on a bear.

Also depends on the bear. A black bear may run at the first sign of trouble. If it's a grizzly... Bring an anti-tank rifle just to be sure.

  • If you're of the opinion that there's any credible argument for personal firearm ownership for self defense at all (perhaps you don't, I don't know you) then jogging alone in the city would seem like one of the better times to carry...

  • Elon's not personally designing battery chemistry or running aerodynamics simulations on bodywork at Tesla. He certainly isn't bolting them together, though that would explain the poor finish quality I keep hearing about.

The leadership of a company of any significant size can only ever be doing a small plurality of the work at most, and can usually get away with much less than that. There simply aren't enough hours in the day to outwork the hundreds or thousands of employees that are actually making the company most of its money.

  • Much of his wealth is held in shares of his publicly traded companies. If investors lose faith in his ability to manage and grow one company it could (and seemingly has) affect the value of all companies he's involved with, directly decreasing his net worth. Making Twitter profitable would have gone a long way in demonstrating his ability to run a company, but he has done the opposite.

But technically no, I guess he doesn't need Twitter to turn a profit. He could just watch it all burn.

  • Pretty much every landlord in the world will let you hang things on the wall, so long as it's not unreasonably destructive. They're pretty much planning on doing a little spackle and painting the place when any tenant moves out anyway.

A tv mount usually only requires 4-6 screw holes, which wouldn't be hard to fix later on.

  • Going all-digital is better for sound quality.

This doesn't make any sense. All sound signals must convert to analogue at some point. You simply cannot vibrate the air creating sound waves with a digital signal. Technically I suppose you could, but all you music would just sound like unintelligible beeping, and you'd still need some kind of amplifier to hear it anyway.

All we've done is move the DAC from the phone into the earbuds, or maybe a dongle. The latter may result in better audio if you have a high quality dongle, but the DAC in a pair of wireless earbuds will almost always sound worse simply due to size and power constraints.
