  • I specifically looked at the available specs at the local auto parts stores and couldn't find Ah details. This was about 2y ago, so maybe this value is becoming more commonplace. I know in the RV/Sailing works Ah is used pretty exclusively. My deep cycle AGM only lists CCA and reserve capacity

  • A little more technical, I don't think your average starting battery is 100ah capacity, and most don't rate themselves in amp hours either.

I bought a deep cycle for my little sailboat at the local auto store and it's around 70-80ah

You would need an inverter to convert the batteries DC (direct current) into AC (alternating current). This will "cost" some power (watts) to convert that voltage. Your refrigerator runs on AC battery outputs DC.

That said, it is quite common to run refrigerators on larger boats and RVs off batteries and it would certainly be possible to run your house fridge off a single car battery for a short while if you've got an inverter large enough to run it.

What your not gonna do is just run out to the car, grab your battery and hook it directly to your fridge.

Our fridge uses between 130-180 watts when running and about 2.9Kw or 2900 watts in 24 hours. Your battery most likely has under 1000 total watt hours til empty, and car batteries are generally not used past 50% capacity (lead acid starting battery). So figure 500 watt hours max (for easy math). So... 4h run time maybe.

  • I don't use either service very often, but the last time I tried, I ended up taking a taxi as it was cheaper. This was at the airport.

Again, rarely use these types of services period. But I've also never had a taxi not show up and almost make me miss my flight. Happened to me with Uber.

  • I made the decision to block it a while ago so I don't visit it. In fact, it's blocked at the DNS level inside my house right or wrong. Wish I could laser in on YT Shorts / FB reels to cut/block them. I wish as a paying customer of YT I could disable shorts from my feed longer than 30 days.

I watch a TON of longer form YT, and while, of course, there is algorithm in play here, I have 100s of subscriptions and mostly watch those channels exclusively. I branch out when I'm just filling time mindlessly or the available content is watched with my wife and she's not here etc...

I'm sure I blocked tiktok when it was only short form. I also did it so my son couldn't get to it. Until he got an iPhone he was completely prevented from installing/visiting it. My wife now controls this parental bits (as a fellow drone... Err, iPhone user), and while the app is not allowed on his phone, I'm not sure if he can get to it via the browser.

  • I'm old(ish) so maybe I'm out of touch but I don't see anything good from any short form video. Tiktok, YT shorts whatever. I hate them all.

It's like we're trying to train people to have ADD.

  • Mine has like 165k. First vehicle I bought myself new. SR5 is just the middle package. They had the low trim as no named, SR5 then limited.

I got mine from Jim Barkley (brand new). Six hour drive. I drove down there in a 1999 Chevy S10 ZR-2 and traded it in and bought the Tundra. I was there like 30-45 min and I financed it with them. Jim Barkley is gone now, but that was such a pleasurable experience for a car buying experience.

    Still love this truck!

  • I listen to a podcast that is generally quite opposite of my political alignment, but I usually find it entertaining. One thing these guys believe or at least discuss quite often is that Biden is being given drugs at certain times to "kick start" him for things like the SOTU. So, I don't believe this is anything new.

  • I live in a small town and I run through the side streets around me. Have been for years.

This winter season of running (when my evening runs are during dusk/dark) I wear multiple lights and have typically considered myself more visible than during daytime running. However that has not been the case this year. I've had to get out of the way of oncoming traffic a few times which has only happened one time previously.

It is ridiculous how little people are paying attention while moving around in 4-6k lb metal cages.

Whether it's messing with their phone, or their touch screen infotainment systems it's quite the time be along a roadway trying to exercise.
