  • It was totally to give you content to share today on Lemmy /s

I have wondered for a while if both the predictive and spelling 'help' these keyboard provide are getting broken because they're integrating "what most people do" to your phone.

autocorrect is like downright scary now. you have to double, triple check what you typed is what WAS typed.

  • Well humans are making them. Vine and other early adopter places (Lemmy) are nice until the "masses" find it.

It's awful, but people eat it up. Add in profit margins and companies jump on smelling that sweet sweet profit.

Tik Tok is blocked in my house but unfortunately reels/yt shorts have no easy way to block without affecting the rest of the service.

  • I'm just using the default storage, and have a Nextcloud instance for any files I need to access.

I do use Google photos, but I skirt there uploads using my old pixel 1 to upload my pixel 8pro photos :) so my storage is mostly static with Google

  • Ok, ya I've seen those... I love the idea and am excited to see them become mature.

I am, unfortunately tied to Google right now with our "whole house audio". Using old Chromecast audios. When those are EOL it is going to create a real headache here.

We use minis to initiate the CCAs by making their (minis) default speaker the CCA running through a centralized amp for that room (to ceiling speakers)

    It works quite well

  • Oh ya for sure. I deleted my account, and moved here never intending to look back. I have clicked on a couple reddit links since I left but I really try not too. Like I'd say 5 times maybe. In the end if I need info and that's the only place...

  • I removed my account a few years ago when they moved a bunch of features behind their paywall. I'm perfectly fine just using Garmin's built in 'news feed' and tracking without giving my data to another company.

  • The pteg failed (sheered off near the "head" of the bolt/stud. The flat washer like heads were all still attached.

I had to replace the panel, and just went with SS screws right into the fiberglass. I also tape the leading edge during transport.

I'm guessing air got up under the front lip and just poof off it came. In my case these were fairly small which I'm sure didn't help my case.

  • I made flat head bolts out of pteg for solar panel mounted to my sailboat and while towing it to the lake they ripped out :( (and I lost the panel)

I made the bolt head like a flat washer so I could glue it to the boat then set the panel on it and secured it with a pteg nut.

  • So, before reading the comments I copied a bit of text and was literally going to say "so, DEI" which is of course is one of the huge complaints with GOPers

Supporters of the measure say it will make universities more accepting of conservative students and academics. But many professors worry the law could put their careers in jeopardy for what they say, or don't say, in the classroom.

    Quite rich...
