If a game doesn't work on linux, I don't buy/play it until it does. End of story. There is plenty of choice and time is limited, so having an extra filter is just helpful.
If you way of replying is to use caps instead of linking maybe to a specific topic... not sure I really wanna know what this is about. Also in regards to #nixos there is another active topic on lemmy worth reading.
I am not sure if you are onto something or you don't understand the proposition. e.g. how does KDE or any other DE developer maintain their packages on debian? Do they not? And its up to debian developers to decide what version of KDE they use?
If thats the case then I see your point, which would make it very hard for the so-called "kubuntu" package maintainer, because they have to rely on what debian maintainers do.
Because you are just looking for an email provider: https://disroot.org/en (donation financed)
Otherwise there are paid providers which are based in germany: mailbox.org or posteo.de
I am very certain the most appropriate person to update the software would be the developer itself. So when suddenly for flatpaks & co the responsibility of updating libraries is put on the flatpak package maintainer for ANYTHING used in that container... it doesn't sound optimal.
Still your example is a very edge-case scenario, because it would create a static vulnerability.
Cool that you mention also the other contender OS in that regard. Interestingly you both chose Void as your comparison...I would be curious to why? @7ai@sh.itjust.works
