Which games run slower on linux (with proof please)? I bet you are not able to name 2... the adaption layer as you name it is not causing performance degression because linux by itself runs much more performant than Windows.

Bring Vulkan into play and you will see performance gains on linux compared to windows.

What is a beginner? Somebody who wants to install and never tinker with the system again? Those users should not try ANY linux in my opinion. But if you are willing to learn and check resources in the internet on how to solve problems, what better place than the best online linux documentation EVER?

The first sentence is invalid. There is such a minuscle amount of games not working on linux. On top of it, most games run better on linux (e.g. frametimes). Also your second argument is flawed and outdated. Privacy and having freedom and control is probably a much bigger driver to run and use linux on your desktop.

Kanagawa is the best color theme hands done. Catpuccino/dracula being second. There is also a "dragon" variant with less contract for nightshifts. Just recognized you are also using the best Font there is... are we siblings?

I'd say the terminal, although its not linux exclusive and kind of a cheat answer. Flameshot is also a staple for me, I use it everywhere.

MPV comes to mind, although its also available in windows.

We are going in circles here, your perspective is skewed because you are looking from a very distinct professional viewpoint. Whereas I recognize big "userbase" which wants linux just to "work", without "tinkering". You are never going to persuade those to learn the terminal in the way you described.

And again I am a long time user not versed in awk, regex etc. and I have minimal problems helping myself when in trouble with linux.

Sure but not every linux user is striving to become a sysadmin. I am totally with on the cli love, but I also understand that this isn't everybodys jam. Learning the basics of your packet manager is enough imo, the rest comes with time through tinkering...

I am a sysadmin and I don't even know how to use awk, sed or regex properly. I doubt a normal user will. Of course these are very handy tools and can help greatly with performing manipulative tasks.

Only downside is lack of documentation for distro specifics. You need to adapt docs for Arch on Tumbleweed.

Arch is for those who like to tinker, edit lots of config text files and read man pages and wiki entries.

Basically how every linux user should be.

Manjaro is not breaking it self. You are and you have to learn to prevent that. Going with some immutable is not going to teach you much.
