  • I really loved the first game, but have zero faith in the sequel. I think the whole 3d rework makes no sense, and on top of that, it’s led by a company, that’s historically made the worst choices in every aspect of development

  • I've switched my laptop from an XPS machine to an M1 Pro MBP, and it's genuinely been one of my best purchases. I can easily do my work for an entire day, and more often than not, I can spend like 3 nights in a row watching something in bed too. Not to mention that it doesn't run like a furnace, even under load

  • A few friends have been trying to get me into trying out turn-based games, so i'd love that copy of Octopath.

But for exciting news: decided to challenge myself a little, and write out guitar tabs for a recently released song, by ear, which i've never done before. It's been really difficult, but really fun at the same time!

  • That decreased my usage by 90%, but ultimately that’s not the reason i stopped using it. It’s just a shitshow with a lot of really angry people. You can rarely have a proper conversation in your communities

  • I've had my stuff on Gitlab way before that ever even happened, just because I've already had issues with the platform before, and knew it would eventually change hands. Shame it'll likely happen again with this too

  • I've been casually taking a look at it for a bit, so it's definitely on the radar

Edit: Overall i’m happy, at first proper glance, but not having access to even barebones CI is kind of a pain. I can’t really deploy my own at the moment, and having to request access to their own Woodpecker instance is something that seems unlikely to be approved

  • I keep basically all of my shit on Gitlab, so depending on who they sell it to, that might be a goodbye. I've really enjoyed the platform, but if it goes into hands of either some clueless business people, data aggregator, or "AI-first" bullshit, i'm migrating to something else.
